JBD #something Entry Art

Postby Aurealis » Fri Feb 15, 2013 5:39 pm

Firstly, Cheerio is daydreaming this scene. He is has a vivid imagination! Cheerio wants to be a pirate among other things. (He also loves ninjas, super spies, superheros... I could go on!) ouo

This took a ridiculous amount of time, the timer is only off by an hour or so. Water is so difficult to draw! Maybe I should have drawn him in space instead - that might have been easier... eue

I used more than 7 layers on the water alone, not to mention the number of attempts on paper and on the computer that it took to get this cute bean's anatomy (and markings) semi-accurate.

And that hat.... NEVER AGAIN. That tiny hat alone took half an hour. In case you can't tell, it's supposed to ba a sailors hat!

I'm really happy with how the whole thing turned, and think that my long efforts were worth it. Wish me luck! <3

UPDATE:
Fixed the markings and shading.

Does anyone have any shading tips? I attempted to add some shading, but I'm not quite sure how to do it effectively... Can anyone help me with that?

Add the darker shade with the normal brush in the appropriate shading area. Then take the blender (size 15 or so) and blend it out smoothly. Hope it helped.
