Name
Vēra
It means vengeance in Gujarati
Gender
Vera will be referred to as a she.
Emotion
Naturally, this species doesn't have emotions, they are void of all eelings. But not this one, no. Her history has been so traumatic that it has left it's mark. She feels pain in it's extremity, as if it is magnetized by 100. One touch is agonizing for her, so unlike the rest of her species, she shows pain. Vera has sworn vengeance on her species' enemies, and is out looking for them. She won't stop until justice is served. Don't get in her way, lest you WANT to die.
History
Nobody knows about her history. Not even she does. We just know that somewhere along the lines her mask was cracked and damaged some. Also, we know that it is a very bloody and gory past. I, quite frankly, am too scared to want to know what happened to Vera. She was rescued by me on one of my trips to Gujarat.

The travel journal
Day 910:
We crashed on the Vishwamitri river in Gujarat, India. After a few miles of walking, we came across an odd looking creature. My companion Gherit identified it. When she neared the creature, it backed up, but allowed me to approach it, something strange happened. I felt drawn to it. It's name is Vera, and like to be referred to as a she, even though it has an absence of gender.
More about the location, as I AM supposed to be mapping geographical regions of the world:
River banks are hidden by dense shrubbery. Here, the water ran very fast, and the great level of biodiversity limited accessibility for humans. There were many large predatory creatures, some twice her size, some minuscule killers. The terrain was rough, making mobility treacherous, it was not uncommon that one should fall over and break a bone (seeing as another crew member broke her leg). The sun cannot penetrate through the dense canopy that the trees form, making it always dark- Night and day didn't matter under the cloud cover. Near the river though, the light shone brightly, doubled by the reflection of the filthy, green waters. Crocs lurked within these waters, ready to snap up any daring enough to enter the river. Other predatory fish also waited, but some were daring enough to leap out of the water, onto the banks. If they got stuck, they would soon perish.
The wildlife was not the only hazard. Plants with foot long spikes, and poisonous fruit waited for a naive creature to come and take a bite. Some released spores into the air that, when inhaled, would fester in the lungs, restricting breathing and slowly suffocating the weakened prey. Some plants had barbed roots that would stick out of the ground, snaring any who stepped on it. Some plants would choke the others in their surrounding areas, growing and dominating said area until they died, plants like this never had a long lifespan. Drinkable water was not a common sight either. The river water was too dangerous to go near, and rainwater didn't get past the canopy layer. The only drinkable water was either in natural reservoirs, or thirteen feet down in underground lakes and rivers. Because water gathers on top of leaves in the canopy layer, the water evaporates, but instead of it rising, it sinks to the ground, creating a constant chill in the air, and a damp fog that lingers on the forest floor.
