Planing out a few more species for my comic, Never Give Up Never Surrender.
Since it will be based on it's own planet, it needed it's own stuff rather then flopping earth animals in it, yes?

This is a small bird species, common, and the size of a sparrow.
When having it's wings rested and at it's side it looks similar to a sparrow, but when it's wings are stretches or when it is flying a smaller, bottom pair of wings are visible. They tend to glide as much as they can to conserve energy.

Males and females are easy to tell apart. Only the males have a small feathered crest on the top of their head that runs down to the base of the neck, and the males have two long pheasant (or peafowl, still choosing) like feathers with the tail. These display feathers come in a variety of colors and patterns. The normal tail feather will fan out when in flight, and the display feathers will fan out to the sides.

I got the top and bottom wing idea from looking at pictures of Wright Brother planes. c:

After giving it some though I think I will make the display feather similar to a pheasants. Peafowl feathers are shown in the picture, and it will be edited in a minute. The display feathers will be kind like these, for looks. Although the colors can be a rainbow of any color. c:
