I should have made this on my birthday, but I was far too busy. But, don't think I've forgotten you - it wasn't all that nice a party due to your absence...but I love you all the same, little fella.
On the 23 of August (my birth-date) we went to the pet store to buy a gerbil - but, before we could look further than this one cage, I knew it was meant to be. We came out of the shop with a Chinese dwarf hamster, named Jackie (yes, like Jackie chan) about a month later he was missing from his play-pen, and on my birthday, every year, I try my best to pull a straight face towards the absence of my little friend - who knows, he could still be out there, but at least he's earned the freedom most desired. Because of the state I was in a day after he was lost, my mum decided that we'd buy another - but two this time, on the same day my best friends came back from Portugal. I was already looking forwards for the morning to come, and then it was for two reasons. So, when we got to Pets at home the first cage we passed was now an adorable litter of Roborovski dwarfs. Agoutis and huskies. I was immediately drawn to them, and we bought two - a husky and an agouti. They live healthily today, but I still won't ever forget Jackie - he isn't replaced, and never will be.
