Soooo the first thing I have to say to this, it took way longer than I originally thought it would. The timer might not be 100% correct but it did take very long. I guess it just always happens to me that I wanna do a quick sketch and it ends up fully colored and shaded and everything. Ah well, it's about 11:30 pm now and I should've been in bed for over an hour, but merp, to me it was worth it. Tomorrow I'll be sitting in school nearly falling asleep but smiling like hell. ^^;

Weeell to the actual pic now, it's my WME boy Leeto and a mare that I'm going to try for. I've been searching for THE perfect mate for him for months, for his one and only love, and I believe that I've found her now so I just have to try, cause she's simply perfect. Art wasn't required, but I just could not manage to find a better way than art to express my feelings and Leeto's feelings so I thought I should risk it and try. Well, this is the outcome, I hope you like it. ^^

@ TheHorseListener: :0 What mate does your mare have, if you don't mind me asking? I'd love to see him, I'm sure they fit way better than you think. :3
And don't feel bad for having doubts, really. Doubts just mean that you don't do something on impulse but actually think about it, which is a very good thing if it's about mates for characters. I think a mate should really fit so even if you think it's perfect and fits, it's a good thing to carefully think about it. That way you won't end up with a mate for your char that you don't like anymore after a while.

I myself had doubts about this mare, honestly. You must know that I am VERY picky when it comes to a forever mate. I have been searching for a forever mate for Leeto for months, I wanted her to be perfect for him in every way. For example I wanted her to be not over 12.3hh, preferably smaller cause...idk, I just wanted his mate to be not taller than him. At first I had a grey/white-ish mare in mind with blue eyes to name Liffey (that is the name of and irish river and means "life"...and river, water, blue eyes...you get what I mean right?^^). I thought grey/white, maybe with silver quiping, would be a nice match for a black WME with golden markings because of the contrast. But after a while I started to think that it is too simple, too cold, somewhat boring, it might even make Leeto appear demonic (cause black with red eyes vs. white with blue eyes) and he is definitely not. I started to look for a mare with warmer tones, but still preferably not above 12.3hh and preferably blue eyes because of the name (though the latter wasn't a must if the design was perfect and the eye color matching). There were some mares that tempted me a lot but I always decided to not apply, as hard as it was. Some of them nearly fit all my requirements, but either the aspect that was off my vision was insurmountable (like once I was tempted to apply for a pretty mare but 14.1hh just was too tall), or the overall thing just didn't click, didn't seem to fit. Then Maz released this girl and the grey mare. When I clicked the image of this girl I didn't really think she was gonna be so perfect but I looked at her and was like "Woah o.o". The height was perfect, warm tones combined with white, not blue eyes but orange which was even better cause orange is the color of sunsets/sunrises and Leeto loves those. I also liked the design. I decided that if I apply I'd not choose Liffey as a name, as it had lost it's appeal to me somehow, so I googled names meaning "life" and found Maisha, which is african. Leeto is african too and means "one who embarks a journey" so I thought it'd fit. Still I developed doubts. Was she really the right one? Did I really love her design enough? I mean it appears rather simple if you compare it to some of Maz' complicated designs. Though, whenever I looked at her I had a warm feeling inside. And she did not seem that simple at all. Those pretty orange eyes that have the color of something that Leeto adores. Then those brown quiping coming from the top like the rays of the setting sun, facing the white stripes coming from the belly side like the rays of the rising sun. And that pretty blaze, with it's dark brown frame, and the two white quiping stripes on her cheeks, as if they were touched by the morning light...this gal has the rays of the morning sun on her face. <3
Before I'm getting too philosophic ( ), let's move on. After all I decided to just color in the lines that I had already started/nearly finished. I thought that if I color them in and it feels "right" I will apply, and if something feels wrong I just won't. Wells and as you can see it did feel right. ^^;

Bleh, I think I'm getting too attached to this girl. *looks guiltily at the novel she juts wrote above* This morning I found myself scribbling her on a sheet of my note book, and I was like "No...no getting attached I probably won't win her.". It's so hard to resist the urge to draw her. xD


But anywho, long story short, what I wanted to say is, don't see the doubts as something negative. Take them serious but don't let them take you down. After all your gut instinct will help you decide. ^^

Also, pulease don't eat a rat...I'm probably not gonna win her so, the poor rat. D=
And I'd feel honored if Leeto was one of the equids on your clock, and if I actually win this girl, she too of course. I wish we did cool stuff like that at school, it sounds fun. :0

The Equid i think will go with her is this dude. So i tried to make my answer "awesome" but i have to say, its a bit random the question XD i can't help but imagine horsy seeing me in the streets and shouting FAIRY

anyways:
First of all i've been looking, like with you, for the right male equid for Faline, though not absolutely perfect XD, also some one who cancels her out in personality as she is adventurous but quite serious, so she needs someone who is care free but wimpy XD
Also as you can see she is named after Faline from Bambi and i've been looking for someone who can fit the name Bambi or Bambini (Bam-bean-knee) as i like the whole plot about Bambi and Faline (God i love kid films)
Also i was originally looking for a light male with red eyes and light greyish patterns, any size higher than 12hh (Faline's 12hh)
then i have to admit i saw your guy Leeto and i was like :O but i didn't want to bother you and now you've found someone for him
anyways, so then i thought *well if i thought Leeto and Faline would be good together then i need to find the right pattern, a lightish bridle like one*
The guy i found caught my eye as he is named WME: bacon
So....bacon is the name of my grandma's dog (imma veggy killer :3 not Meat killer btw) and so that caught my eye so i was like hmmmm.....and i looked between him and Faline on 2 tabs, making sure they were the same way down so it looked cool :3
Then i just starred at him and 'analysed' him and saw how he filled her cracks in her personality and i saw he has a brindle kind of design with his fur being black then the markings a light brown, and the brindles stop randomly while with Faline her's go from here-to there mostly. His colour patterns struck me as on his mane where the markings are his mane goes the dark colour of his body and where the base colour is his mane is light, while Faline's mixes in, white with white, bay with bay
Then i saw a slight resemblance between him and Leeto, except He Just fitted. He just seems right
Though im not sure, im still having doubts, is he really right? Or will he just not fit in?
all my other charries have (or are getting) mates

Also, i want to know, why the hell do i keep applying for Females/Mares in any species and get them while i apply for a male/stallion/gelding and i don't
