Coconut Birds, a close relative of the Kiwi Bird, are a relatively
new species. The average weight for these flightless birds is around
ten pounds, just slightly larger than the Kiwi Bird.
Found only in pairs, Coconut Birds rely on each other for survival.
Recently people began catching them as pets, splitting the pairs up.
The birds seem to crave human attention, and quickly forget about
their old ways. Although, every once in a while, they'll remember
the old friends they made back in the rain forest.
Will you take one home?
