With no nest and no parents in the area, we took him in and cared for him as many others would have done. We named him Downspout or DS for short, ironically for the tumble he took through our pipes. He lived and then he thrived, it seemed that he would make it to adulthood and would learn to fly. But a few days ago, he passed away for no reason. Whether he was sick, hurt, or a combination of both, his death shocked and deeply hurt both me and my sister. He had becme like a child to us, more than a pet or a friend, and we miss him dearly. I decided to make this drawing to represent the flight and the journey he has and is now taking through life and death. I wish I could bring him back or I could have found out what may have been wrong with him, but neither of those will happen. Sorry for being such a Debbie Downer but I really do miss the poor little guy.
