Please help me- strange things have been happening on my account lately.

For one thing, I sent a trade to someone who was running an adoption center, asking for some of the adoption center pets. They accepted, then somehow, from my account a trade was sent back to them, offering back the pets, with the message "(Trade sent by site adminstrator 'Nick'.)"

Why did this happen? Was it really Nick?

Also, I offered one of my pets from the pound in a trade, and recieved a PM from myself, entitled, "A message from your pet", lamenting about how it remembered the day I adopted it from the pound, and it didn't want to leave me.

Is this normal? Has someone hacked my account? If so, what should I do?

The pound pet message is totally normal.Alot of times pets from the pound are gathered from account users that have broken the rules and have gotton banned.So more than likely the site doesn't like these pets to be moved around alot.Trust me,i have alot of those messages in my inbox.
I'm not sure what to make of the 'Trade from administrater Nick'.Not sure sure how to explain that for ya....

Pound pet messages like that are totally normal.
For Nick editing your trade...It's probably because they don't want people sending free pets...
