Well, they quite literally work in a kitchen, and they’ve been taking extra shifts. They’ve been doing a lot of hard work. They really should cut back their hours (ha…no pun intended.) They should really just go back to the schedule they originally had there. Even the manager and other cooks are trying to get them too. However, they just won’t listen. They feel as if they’re only helpful if they do a lot of work. It keeps them from having self doubt, from thinking of their self as useless, but…it’s bad for their health.

Slicker wasn’t the most liked when he was a youngin’. He often was picked on and teased because of various attributes that were no fault of his own. One day he thought all of that had changed, when some of the others asked him to play ball with him. However after kicking the ball into the forest, Slicker was sent alone to retrieve it. Not wanting to upset his new “friends”, he agreed. But what they didn’t know… is that the ball had rolled all the way downhill and into the den of a mother bear. Slicker got the ball back, but lost both his ear and his trust in others when he got back.
Nowadays, Slicker prefers the company of the little forest critters instead. The don’t tease or make fun of him, plus it always pays off when he nurses a little birdy back to health and gets to see it fly off once it’s all better.

Trying to get a nice hair cut to go with their ears! It is SO hard to pick just the right way to put that fur that will work and neither make the lost ear stand out too much, nor hide it too much either because that's not the image they're trying to achieve. Ugh. Perfection is such a hard work.

Sorry for the late judging, had no internet for a few days.
Love the name slicker and think the story fits them quite well!
