I’ve been waiting years for someone to voluntarily let me show them my favorite bug — this is the blue death feigning beetle, despite their names they’re actually black the blue is a wax cover that protects them from the harsh desert sun! More accurate to their name they’re AMAZING at playing dead. They make wonderful pets and I’ve had them for years now! If you ever want to get into live bug collecting they’re amazing to start with! All you need is a box, sand and food, you don’t even have to get them water as they absorb water from the food they consume :]

Thank you so much! And yes, unless they’re hungry they’re very good to hold! When they’re hungry they might mistake your hand for food and give you a nibble, that’s how you know it’s feeding time lol
