Kama had mostly kept to himself all his life, shying away from really putting himself out there and getting to know anyone, preferring to just do his own thing at his own pace, not that anyone else seemed to mind.
He was quite different from the others in his birthclan; the only one with love magic, for starters, and as such it had formed a bit of a rift between him and the more macho birds that viewed him as an outsider more than one of them.
It was no wonder he left, really.
He never thought he'd really find any major significance in being around others after a lifetime of solitude, but he was pleasantly surprised to discover he was wrong when he stumbled across a mixed-creature clan in the middle of the Whispering Wilds during a storm that had grounded him.
He hadn't come across many clans in this region that weren't all of the storkatten variety, and much less so any that saw their smaller magical counterparts as anything more than game, so his curiosity had been piqued as to what life in such a place was like.
And what a life it was - a beacon of light in the shriveled and blackened forest that loomed over this landscape like a blanket of foreboding darkness.
He was met with warmth the likes of which he'd never received before, and it left a much welcome crack in his once aloof facade... especially when he was introduced to the Court of Hearts, as they called themselves.
Various creatures, of all shapes and sizes, with one major thing in common that had brought them together, at first as friends, and then as an extended found family - love magic.
Kama, whom had never really found much of a use for his magic in the past, and even saw it as pointless once, felt at home surrounded by these others like him, and it wasn't long before they had talked him into staying, so they could help him embrace his magic, and even himself.
He now had a purpose, one that had been robbed from him in his old clan; in melting pot of different species, he could help to keep peace. Love magic was an integral part of this place, as frequent infighting sprung up due to clashing ideals between the night guards and the old-world believers, and he would be a part of helping them finally see eye-to-eye.
