Seeing the stars reflected in Eyes' good eye completely took Cayde's breath away. Being able to sit in the company of this chicoon was incredible to him, and he would've gladly broken the curfew to spend more time with him if he hadn't been the one to bring it up.
Cayde flushed as they briefly held hands, and as he fell against Eyes slightly after his "shortcut." The powerful magic left him a little dizzy.
Cayde briefly greeted his roommate
Citrus as he slid past him to his own room. He curled up in his blanket nest but was unable to sleep, mind wandering back to the night. And of course, to Eyes.
And... "Honeydew."
Who exactly... was Honeydew? And who was he to Eyes? Before Eyes had ended the night, he had mentioned someone being "worried sick" about him, it couldn't have been the same friend from the story, could it? The same...
friend...?Burying himself deeper into his nest, Cayde tried not to think about it. There was no point in getting all worked up over what is
probably nothing at all! One mention of a friend means nothing at all. Nothing at all.
"Honeydew" seemed like a pretty cute name. So did "Blueberry."
Cayde let out a small scream into his pillow.
According to Eyes, Honeydew had succeeded in giving himself hair. Curly, Eyes had mentioned. Cayde ran a paw through the tuft of messy spikey fur on his own head. He really should take better care of it. He tugged on the spikey ends of his ears as well, if Honeydew's hair was so nice, the rest of his tufts must be soft and delicate.
"Honeydew" brings to mind delicate colors as well... Pale and soft. Not harsh and bright. Not saturated primaries against a black background. Something sweet and natural, not noisy and cluttered.
Someone with impressive horns. Someone adventourous and bold. Someone experienced in magic. Someone fun and playful. Someone beautiful. Someone who wasn't... Cayde.
Cayde slipped out of his nest and out into the livingroom, where Citrus was still up playing some game on their shared console.
"Woah you alright man?" Citrus asked, looking Cayde up and down.
"Need a player 2?" Cayde replied.
"... Yeah, sure. You know where the controllers are."
