Cayde shuffled closer to Eyes and brushed his tail against the other's in an attempt to give Eyes a bit of comfort. Cayde knew the stars would be emotional for Eyes, but he hadn't anticipated just how much.

The stars were beautiful and the meteors flashed brilliantly in the sky. Faint star particles drifted around them as they laid next to each other. The entire scene was beautiful, but Eyes was the only thing Cayde could see. Cayde listened intently the the story he was told, startling slightly when the attention was turned back to him.

"Ah, well... I guess there's one story..."

Jessie the gameleon had been dropped off back at Cayde and Citrus' apartment before Cayde and Eyes had headed out, so Cayde took the opportunity to tell the story of how the two of them met. It wasn't a very thrilling story, they had encountered each other while chasing after the same rare bug and things had just worked out after that. Cayde did his best to keep the story interesting for his friend, and hoped that Eyes was having as good of a time as he was. Cayde was happy to spend time with Eyes no matter what it was that they were doing.

Cayde stretched out his story for as long as he could so the night wouldn't end early.

Cassidy throughly enjoyed eyes's story although she was slightly concerned about their wellbeing. Maybe Eyes shouldn't be allowed around potions without someone making sure he had the proper safety equipment...

After Eyes asked her to tell a story she thought for a minute before remembering the perfect one.

"It was right after my girlfriend and i bought the building for our new flower shop. It needed a bit of fixing up but was nothing we couldn't handle. Of course, work is always more fun with music so we went to set up a radio we had brought along before we started repainting the walls.
Well, we put on the counter and pushed the on button and nothing happened. So we pushed it again and still nothing turned on.
Now this was really disappointing because we were looking forward to some good music while we fixed things up so we pushed all the buttons on the radio mostly out of frustration and still nothing so we gave up. It wasn't really that big of a deal anyways.
So about thirty minutes later, we were making good progress and getting the walls painted when my girlfriend asked me get a different paintbrush from the counter.
The paintbrush had fallen behind the counter though so i went around to pick it up, i saw that we had never plugged the radio in!
We both had a felt a little dumb but it gave us a good laugh. And after that we listened to all the cds we had brought."
Cassidy finished her story with a smile. It was a fond memory of hers and she was glad to share it with her friend Eyes.

Prompt: Max mentally berated himself for suggesting they go stargazing. He hadn't thought about the fact that Eyes might fear the dark after his lengthy time in that crazy maze. But when he realized that Eyes actually appreciated that they'd come to the field to see the stars, the rainbow Chicoon was relieved. He listened raptly to the story Eyes had to share. It reminded him a little about an incident he'd found his twins in once.

"That reminds me about something my little ones did," Max said. He laughed. "My mate, Mirabel, and I were asleep. The twins, Lottie and Quinn, got up early because they wanted to surprise us with breakfast. Well, Mirabel had been on a smoothie kick and had left the blender out. The twins wanted to try making their own smoothies for us."

The father's wings wiggled with the memory. "Mia and I were woken up by the sound of the blender and the twins screaming. We rushed into the kitchen to find everything splattered with the fruits and veggies that the twins had attempted to blend." He shook his head and chuckled. "The two forgot the most important part about using a blender...making sure the top is on before you hit the on button!" His laughter grew. "Their poor faces were covered in food. They certainly learned a lesson that day. And Mia learned not to leave devices out where the twins could easily get to them!" [242 words]

Prompt: "Maxwell and I decided to go to his favorite club to hang out. He was feeling down and wanted to find someone to help lift his spirits, plus he knew I loved dancing. I think he wanted me there to help be his wing woman, though in truth, he didn't need me there. He's got so much natural charm as it is." She chuckled while smiling warmly before continuing. "Anyways, we were dancing for a while until one with a killer beat came on. I spun around to the beat, my tail flew wide behind me and it knocked into this other guy. Of course I stopped and appologized profusely. The other guy, luckily, was not hurt. He actually had a really great attitude about it. Maxwell was there appologizing right along with me. I caught a spark between the two and excused myself to get a drink at the counter. I kept an eye on Maxwell and could see that they two Chicoons were hitting it off. After giving my buddy some space, I came back later to keep dancing. This time we all danced together for a few more hours. Once it was late in the evening, I headed home by myself while Maxwell headed to a dinner with his new guy. If it wasn't for my clumsiness, I don't know if those two would have met. Maxwell needed the pick me up of a fun night."

Boo felt something tug at him as he watched Eyes tear up. To see him cry at just seeing the stars reminded him again how long he was stuck in that maze. How long he was alone. "Hey it's alright. The stars I think appreciate it." He nudged Eyes gently, giving him a tender smile through the darkness. Boo watched for awhile, keeping quiet as Eyes took in the sight. Something welling up in him itself,he wasnt sure what. He let Eyes tell his story. He had so many questions, now didnt seem the time. Boo laughed with him as he finished. "A story of mine then?" he met Eye's expectant gaze."Oh! I know. I guess you havent met them, huh? Theyre a bit shy and that maze scared them when we first met. I have a companion! He's...a ghost? I know others dont believe but after what you've seen im sure you would. He's kinda got attached to my flame? Which looks kinda ghostly I guess. I'd like you to meet them. Maybe if I tell you how we met they'll come out. You see I used to be a ghost hunter.."

[I sat quietly at the edge of the porch of an old house. It had been rumored to be haunted for years, real infamous in the area. Nobody wanted to live in it or even GO in it. I was a junior member of a small ghost hunter group at the time. I was the newbie so i was left to just make sure the equipment was still working at all times. It was pretty lame. I wanted to be in there searching and stuff yknow? FIND something. It was a cold autumn night so i didnt think anything of it when i felt something cold against my back. At first. It just seemed to be...getting colder . I looked over my shoulder and i swore i saw something dash out of my peripheral. I put down what I was tinkering with and called out. "Guys? Is one of you headed out? Youre supposed to call on the walkie talkies."No one responded. I felt another chill run down my spine. I spun around fast enough to see it for a moment this time. A little blue ghost stood in my field of view before darting behind the house. I didnt think I was afraid of ghosts but boy was I spooked then. I hesitantly called out for it." Uh...hey there... ghost? Would you like to talk?" It peeked around the corner and it looked...just as scared as me? It had this sad look on its face. I looked down at the little motion radar i had in my paw and sure enough something showed up on it. I called out to it again. "Hey you dont gotta be scared. I'm just here to talk." It seemed to relaxa bit before disappearing and reappearing behind me again. It seemed really entranced by my flame. "You like my fire huh, bud?" It nodded at me as it tried to touch it with no avail. "It's not really a ghost yknow. It's part of me!" It looked sad for a moment but I donno something in that moment we kinda took to each other. I gave them a name and it seemed and they've been following me ever since. I dont have a tail but they've taken up acting like mine.]

"Hey bud come say hi?" There was silence a moment before an eerie blue specter rose from the ground. It hid behind Boo but waved shyly. " Eyes meet Radar!"

Honeydew felt their heart pang as they heard Eyes crying. They felt themselves tear up at the sight and couldn't help but lean into Eyes for a moment to try and provide some comfort. After a moment they leaned back and began to listen to Eyes story. Honeydew chuckled at the story and thought it was charming. After the story there was a moment of silence. "Hmm, sounds like you have a tendency to befriend honeydew's huh?" Honeydew responded in a giggle as they nudged Eyes playfully.
As Eyes seemed to expect a story out of Honeydew now they thought. "Hmm..." They pondered out loud.
Honeydew took a moment to recall a memory before starting on their story.

"Back in my earlier days, I used to live with a roommate. Their name is Glowstone and they're... an interesting chicoon to say the least. They don't have front arms." Honeydew said bluntly before continuing. "Instead they have two front wings and they tend to use them as arms despite them not being... super coordinated." Honeydew gave out a small chuckle. "He also has a tendency to... gather pets. mainly strays. and man did we go on wild chases for them." Honeydew explained. "We found them homes after but we got into some interesting situations for them. Including my current dino runner Yoshi!". Honeydew took a moment to take a deep breath from the cool air. "For Yoshi specifically, we had to hop 3 fences, cross an old abandoned bridge and wander through a wood aimlessly for 2 hours. all of which ended in me falling in a river and needing to be pulled out by the only chicoon i know who doesn't have arms to pull me out". They gave a laugh as they thought back to the situation. "I guess the whole ordeal made Yoshi curious enough to actually approach us and allow me to grab him". Honeydew explained a few smaller moments of that night to Eyes as they both sat and looked at the stars together.

And so Tristan launched into a strange, fantastical story about aliens, destroying golden statues, and discovering the truth behind mysteries before sharing a lunch with a new friend named Mystra.

"Admittedly, that is who I thought the letter might be from originally," he explained. "But still, I am happy to have met you, too. The more friends the better! Oh! Aliens are super strange by the way but in the end we helped them get home! We had no proof to share but... the story and friendship was enough I think." He smiles fondly.

"I find friendship to be worth it alone," he adds. "And I hope you get to make many now that you are here."

Cove laughed. "Well I certainly don't have anything more interesting than that! But, hmm..." Their eyes narrowed for a moment. "Well, there was this time where I found a nautilus shell! It's one of our favorite shells and they're actually pretty hard to find!"

The chicoon continued on about their adventures diving in the Indo-Pacific ocean, finding this rare beauty, and teaching about nautilus conservation when they returned. The whole time they spoke their wings flapped happily and they couldn't help but keep moving around, performing their story for Eyes as he watched. "I really love to teach and with the ocean there's just so much to learn!! And there always will be!! And isn't that so amazing?! There will always be more to know, always be more to tell, and each generation will build their knowledge off of the previous and even then, there will always be more." They sighed happily before their eyes darkened for just a moment. "As... As long as its here, at least, we can do our best to save it."

They shook off their worries, now was the time to talk and enjoy their time with Eyes. "But, that's really the most exciting thing that's happened to me! I should show you the nautilus shell sometimes!"

Prompt: Sara is very concerned about Eyes' reaction to her suggestion of going stargazing. They feel bad; they had not wanted to remind him of the maze. Before Sara can awkwardly apologize and suggest something else, though, Eyes has agreed to go stargazing, so Sara starts leading the way to the spot she mentioned, frequently glancing over at Eyes and offering reassurances. Sara hopes they will feel better once they see the stars... The stars always seem to have a way of helping Sara relax, after all. Maybe they can do the same for Eyes.
As the two reach the top of the hill and Sara gently nudges Eyes and points up at the stars, she is glad to see he seems to have been distracted from his fear by the beautiful night sky. They smile and stare up at the sky as well, feeling a sense of peace as they watch the stars. She eagerly points out a few shooting stars, clearly quite happy, though she is concerned at first when Eyes starts sniffling. At his explanation, Sara smiles reassuringly and says, "You have nothing to apologize for. Feeling strong emotions is perfectly natural, please do not think you need to hide them. The stars are definitely very pretty, and I am glad we can see them again."
They listen to Eyes' story, and when he looks at them to tell a story as well, they think for a bit and a memory comes to the front of their mind. "Would you like to know why I like the stars so much?" Sara stares up at the sky, a smile settling on her face. "When I was little, my parents would often take me stargazing. We would find a nice hill like this, or a big open field, and drink hot chocolate while watching the stars for hours. They showed me constellations and taught me a lot about space, especially stars of course but also all kinds of general information about space. I remember once they told me that people used to use stars to guide their way during long journeys, or if they got lost. Ever since then, that has kind of stuck with me. Any time I am not sure what to do, or where to go... I look at the stars. Sure, usually they do not actually tell me exactly where to go... But I always feel more at peace after watching the stars for a while anyway."
Sara manages to tear their gaze away from the sky to look back at Eyes and smile. "Thank you for going stargazing with me. And listening to my story."
