Yeris tilted his head looking down at the small bird, puffed up and blankly staring at him. He had remembered something like this being mentioned while talking to Mosquito. The storkie had called them... Hearthoots? Cute name for sure, but he hadn't expected to see one here. The short male leaned down, looking at the small creature and watching as it tilted a bit more to look him in the eyes. "Oh, you're a scary little guy, aren't you?" He said, a bit nervous. However, despite his tension, he held out his hand for the small bird to consider... However hearthoots greeted others was a mystery, but Yeris just hoped it didn't include biting...

The small puffball looked at his hand blankly, before waddling onto his hand and sitting there, continuing to stare up at the wizard. Yeris let himself smile a little, bringing a hand up to lightly pet at the bird's face. "Little red baby...blood magic? No, Love? One of those, Mosquito would be able to tell I'm sure... I'm not so good at that kind of stuff." The bird just continued to stare at him, even as he opened a portal that shimmered with a snowy light. "He's probably talking with the Ravynscar hearthoots..."

Upon the mention of other hearthoots, the little bird perked up, jumping up from Yeris' hand to land on his hat, making happy peeping noises that Yeris could only guess were excitement. It became even more obvious once the small bird pulled around on his hat, making him stumble into the portal with the little bird still clinging to his hat. Soon enough, both bird and half-hyena we're sitting in a room with lots of other hearthoots, and the small bird was jumping around and cheering in little chirps. Yeris looked over to a gray storkatten, who grinned at him. "You find a friend?" As if the answer wasn't already running around and chirping happily.
