Weapons
- Longbow and Arrows, standard ranger gear that originally was given to Belenus by a hunting associate in his youth. Originally had a set of twenty arrows. Over the course of the years including the usage of those arrows and the accidental or intentional collection of others' arrows, he has around fifty to sixty arrows on him when fully prepared and stocked up, shorter trips and light packing lead to the standard twenty arrow count. Some of these arrows are custom made, but those are primarily decorative, and Belenus doesn't use them for any hunting or combat he might go through.
Shortsword, his beginning weapon as a rouge, and Belenus' old reliable. The weapon is aged and is put together in a way that obviously shows it had been destroyed and fixed multiple times, the handle is much more modern than the blade itself, and the words carved into the blade have become incomplete due to the consistent efforts to keep the blade at its best. When asked Belenus states that the sword used to have his name on it, along with a small quote from aa great scientist. He can't remember what the quote was exactly, but he finds he doesn't mind that too much either way. There was also an additional sword that was a companion to this sword, but that has been lost to time unfortunately enough.
Hand Crossbows, a set of two crossbows created with both rogue and ranger proficiencies in mind, commissioned from an artisan after Belenus started his journey away from home. They have been modified over the months in order to fit the theming he originally had for them in mind. Both Crossbows have carved images of parasites on them, with eyes and mouths carved along the metal of the weapon. The bolts for the crossbow also have parasitic inspiration, but not to the extent of the weapon itself, and these special bolts are only used when Belenus knows he'll be able to get them back at a later time.
Pair of Handaxes, this typically ends up being a last resort set of weapons, which is obvious by the lack of decoration on the two axes, though there is some slight color decoration on the handles to at least identify them as Belenus', as well as to identify which hand holds which axe, assisted by Bile's blue coloration. He practices with the axes occasionally, because you never want to get rusty with a weapon, but it's obvious that he's more attached to his sword than anything else.
Spell-Based Abilities and Attacks
- Animal Friendship, a spell that allows for Belenus to convince a creature withing reasonable distance that he means no harm to it. Belenus' abilities have caused this spell to work on creatures with significant intelligence, as long as it is not another chicoon. Additionally, Belenus can use this spell on multiple creatures at the same time, the limit of this has not been tested, as the worst situation he ever had to use it in only had a total of four creatures involved.
Additional animal related spells have been used by Belenus, and he's seemingly mixed all of their abilities into a singular spell with extreme power, able to use any assortment of abilities from being able to temporarily speak with animals and use creatures for communication, to locating animals directly over large distances. He can also summon creatures directly, but he finds this ability more annoying than anything unless it's to bring his companion back to him if he's worried about her. It's silly to worry about a creature with a parasite attached to them, but he can't help but fret a little over the small thing.
Burning Hands, Bile's least favorite spell despite not being able to feel burning from the fire. Allows Belenus to release blasts of fire that cause damage to a group of targets. Despite it being his least favorite spell, Bile is the one who produces the fire that comes from Belenus' hands, even if there is certainly an overabundance of fire on the chicoon already- however the fire on Belenus does not exactly translate into fire that can do any damage.
Fear and Phantasmal Killer, Dion would argue that he doesn't need any help with that first spell, already making other uncomfortable and afraid without the need of some spell to cause that in others, but Phantasmal Killer definitely is a spell to match with fear to make a horrific combination. Being as wise and intelligent as he is, Belenus can easily identify a target's worst fear due to body language and subtle clues, which makes the use of the spell that manifests a target's deepest fears extremely easy to use.
- The Explorer's Pack, received at the start of his travels, and very simple overall with materials such as torches and a tinderbox as well as 50 feet of rope. The Rations and sleeping bag that came in the pack weren't much use to him then, and it doesn't get much use now. If anything, he keeps the sleeping bag only because it has a nice decorative piece of art across it, and he'd feel a bit bad giving it away or trashing it when it's got such a lovely bit of work put into it. He later found out that this was custom made by the old retired adventurer that had given him the pack, so safe to say he was glad he didn't ditch it, for his own conscious.
The Burglar's Pack, which despite that being the official name acknowledged by the adventurer's guild, Belenus finds a bit rude considering it's actually mostly materials he packed before leaving home in order to adventure. Thankfully from that however, he was given additional materials that he hadn't even thought of in order to 'complete his pack' as the adventure guild head had said to him. His particular favorite of the kit however is his hammer and crowbar, both made very decorative and carved in due to how sentimental the two objects are for him. Of course, you would think these things being carved into would make them less useful, but that is in fact not the case for some strange reason.
Scholar's Pack, while unfitting of his class, this also was a verdict by the adventuring guild, and things that Belenus had packed on his own. The pack contains some of his books from home, primarily consisting of history and science books, though he also has a small journal along with ink and a pen to use said journal. The journal is already partially filled, having been used for scientific observations in his youth. The pack also has some outliers that fit more with a diplomat's pack, such as map cases and some sealing wax for letters, but it was not enough for the guild to consider it worth the trouble of renaming or adjusting.
Scale Mail, something Belenus only wears when fully geared up, as he finds the material and the sound of the metal when he walks to be both uncomfortable and obnoxious. Not to mention that both Dion and Bile have stated they're not fans of the armor either. He will sometimes wear the gauntlets from the set when not fully geared however, though that's a rarity.
