You've just walked into an auditorium after finding a 'help wanted' sign plastered to a telephone pole. Not that you needed a job, necessarily, but you'd heard the rumors in the city about something lurking in the shadows. Strange, unexplained sightings. Some claimed it was a vampire. Others a werewolf. And then there were some that had no clear description of the figure that lurked in the edges of their vision.

See, you didn't go to the auditorium because you needed a job. No. You went because the flyer promised answers.

So, that's why you found yourself in the auditorium as a winged keldine paced on the stage. They take a moment in silence before turning to address you all, "Hi. Sorry about the lack of space. Wasn't expecting so many to show up. Actually had to bring in some extra chairs from an office of a friend, but that still wasn't enough." He chuckls uneasily, the wings on his back shuffling, "Look, I'm Azareal, and I need some help. I've been tasked with investigating the strange events that have been plaguing this town, and while the city council keeps blaming it on 'gas leaks', I'm quite inclined to believe differently."

He steps off stage for a moment, and you hear the squeaky wheels of a chalkboard as he pushes it out when he returns. With a dramatic flair, Azareal flips the board over to reveal a map of the city and its outskirts, "Here's the plan. You all will go out to an area with reported activity, and see if you can find anything. There's three areas that have the highest concentrated activity."

Azareal points to the western most portion. It's a wooded area on the edges of the city, "As the locals say, the whispering woods."

He points to the next area. You don't recognize the odd squiggles just inside the city's limits, but you hear someone in the crowd go, "Hey! That's the abandoned carnival!"

Your host sighs, but nods, then points to the final area, "And then downtown."

Turning back to the gathered group, Azareal clarifies, "You have a little while to decide where you wish to go. Majority wins. I'll provide supplies and what not, so don't worry about this or that or whatever."
