Lilja was named for her snow white fur and sensitive skin, named for a delicate and simple flower of beauty, simplicity- the lily. Lilja is anything but simple, those that know her know this without question. Once, while expression her distress over the name, how it felt unfitting for her to be represented as just a pretty face, so unassuming... her herb-interested friend corrected her. Her friend pointed out that the flowers she was glowering at weren't lilies at all, despite being commonly mistaken for them. They were actually Amaryllis, tall flowers that stood for pride, ambition, and purity. Although pointing that out didn't seem to help Lilja's disorientation regarding her name, it did shift her attention to something else. She told her friend they were quite lovely, really, and she felt a bit bad mistaking them for lilies in the same way that others mistook her for being a simple pretty face with no more depth than that.

In attempts to cheer Lilja up, her friend decided silently to herself to begin to call her Amaryllis from then on, quietly it spread within her friends and those around her, until there were more who knew her as Amaryllis than Lilja. It came as a shock at first, but the name warmed her heart and put a bounce in her step that was irrefutable. It made her feel tall, like the Amaryllis flowers she'd seen, that so towered over the simple lilies and other flowers waving in the garden that day.
