Prompt: the old rose garden. despite the rest of the city falling into ruin, the rose garden out by the perimeter has managed to survive with the occasional rain and sun cutting through the canopy. shes been nicknamed rose by the cats closest to her for how often she goes there to feel the mulch and grass under her paws, away from the cold concrete buildings most cats prefer to frequent.

Not many cats usually disturb her visits to the museum in the city, possibly because some of the still-standing, preserved dinosaur skeletons provide for a creepy backdrop at night, casting shadows of unknown and monstrous creatures she's only heard superstitions of after the disappearances of humans. She cares not for such mystical tales of them coming to life at midnight. In any case, it's a quiet, forgotten space and she has a morbid curiosity for those ancient bones of large reptilian predators, especially the long-necked ones where the weight of their heads has caused a lot of their bones to tumble down into a dusty heap at the bottom of the great hall. And, of course, she's a bit of a thrill seeker too when it comes to balancing on those same displays that are in danger of toppling over.

“The colors… they are so strange. The red and blue clinging to the walls. So bright and yet you can tell the space is beginning to show its age. I debated making a home here once, under these stairs where I could just stare at the colors as the light of day faded each night, but it’s not the best location to make a nest. I swear the giant box once inhabited by humans will fall like many others before it, this one sooner than others. Not to mention that staring at the colors too long may already be driving me to insanity. Oh well, for now I will just visit when I need quiet or when I feel like allowing my thoughts to wander as I stare at those walls.”
