It was dark, and it was cold. Triptych knew, in this moment, that he'd failed.
The cat who had very clearly admitted their guilt in the death of his daughter got away, and he was dead.

"Would you like to change that?"
A voice caught him off guard, and standing before him in the dark void he found himself in was a large, cream tabby cat with large wings. His tail flicked, and Triptych could hear the ringing of a bell.
"I can give you the chance to find the truth. To get the vengeance you seek."
Triptych scoffed, his tail flicking. "I don't need your help. I'll kill him on my own."
The cream tabby smiled a little wider. "If you say so. Don't let your anger consume you."

And he awoke, once again, in the forest. Instantly, he was overcome with rage, and the war path began.
