However, the question mark tattoo is something else. Alpine loves the idea of being covered in art, but had a very hard time deciding as to what to get, and after a long year of indecisiveness, they ended up getting a question mark. Some may find it weird, but alpine simply says to use your imagination and picture what you would replace that question mark with yourself. It's open for interpretation, and Alpine loves the beauty behind that, and also the beauty of their snakes.

Mel has always had a bit of trouble with the way they looked, and struggled with self-esteem as a kit; it wasn't until they had their first encounter with a snake while herping with a more experienced friend that they really found confidence in themselves. They got their first tattoo that day, the snake around their neck and the little heart between to remind them to love themselves 'head to tail'. They get another like it for every time they lift themselves out of that pit they still occasionally fall into, because sometimes self-love needs a reminder.

tattoos???: Adder got his snake tattoo in honor of his first introduction to snakes. He was a young Charming, just playing in the woods, when he came upon a water moccasin. He had been warned about them, of course, but he'd never actually seen one. Thankfully, it seemed that the snake had just recently eaten, as it was a bit sluggish and round, so he was easily able to side-step it and run home. The mixture of curiosity, excitement, and apprehension stuck with him for the rest of his life, which eventually led to him getting his tattoo.

tattoos???: For Kyle, the question mark is a reminder to himself to question everything! Never be happy with the answers he already has, never be complacent. Always keep looking for new answers, new information, new growth. This is his mantra and it applies to how he interacts with the world and others as well! As for the snake? Well, he likes snakes. He sees them as secret keepers, and he can totally dig that vibe. Plus look at them, such cute little snoots!

Scorpion has had a hard life, most of his childhood was spent in the forest growing up half wild. It was there he made his first friends, and it was there he will eternally rest. One time, when he outside into the deep forest he noticed a pair of shiny yellow eyes peeking out from under a rock. It was a snake. He leaped back in surprise and the snake came out and started slithering all over him. The snake became his first friend and, since then he has always had an attachment to snakes and associates them with friendship. Every time he acquires a friend he can truly relate to he marks it with a snake tattoo as a permanent reminder of his friendship with that snake and the more friendships to come.

Cotton got his first tattoo out of sheer boredom. When the artist asked him what he wanted, he said "I don't know." The artist then made him a question mark, a symbol of his indecisiveness.

He later got his snake tattoos because he thought they looked cool. While doing research to find what kind of snake he wanted tattooed, he decided to go out and get himself one. He couldn't let his knowledge of snakes go to waste, right?

Yū has always had a fancy for snakes, since childhood. Some would tease them for this interest, but that never stopped them and their research lived on. Or it did until one day, when they were bit in the leg by an adder a snake, and could no longer sneak as usual. To symbolize this, they got a tattoo with snakes on the leg that was bit and a cut around their throat to symbolize the pain it cause to not be able to pursue their dream.
