Prompt: Speckle collects bottle tops. any color any pattern, metal, or plastic. basically any old bottle top. oftentimes dug out of the ground or buryed in the remains of old buildings. with his colony having a whole almost currency system based around collecting things that are fun to play with he's become the richest cat in town. having the single largest collection of one specific type of thing. cats often times try and steal his caps from his den. which has even led him to start hiding them all over the territory. like an oversized squirrel, he reburrys stashes of caps and even hides stashes up in tree holes or under bushes. some of the kits have begun to make up stories about him as if he's some kind of pirate. hiding a whole cave full of caps somewhere on the territory.
why does he like caps so much? it started out as him saving up the most popular thing to trade at the time. being a paranoid sort he wanted to make sure he could always buy prey if he was ever unable to hunt for it. relying on the guard scared him as the much larger more powerful cats could easily come back for him if they ever felt he owed them something. so his paranoia fuled collecting habbit built up over time untill it became a small obsession for him.

Alderney collects river stones! As soon as the river thaws, she is down at the water's edge, looking in the still water of eddies for new pebbles to add to her collection. The times after floods are other delightful moments, as floods bring in new rocks from other places, shimmering and beautiful under the water.

Her favorites are pieces of tumbled agate and jasper, their iridescent colors mixing together to form tones and countertones, but she also has a few prized pieces that aren't rocks at all! There are several highly-banded and colorful chunks that date to before the departure of humans from the planet; although she doesn't know this, they are pieces of fused automotive paint, locked together in a rock-like formation. A few of her prized 'gems' are also weathered glass, but she treasures them just as highly as the other gemstones.

Early in her collecting, Alderney realized that rocks taken from the river quickly lost their luster once their coating of water dried. To keep their shiny, shimmery glory, she dug several holes around the clowder's dens and lined the holes with river clay. When the rains came, the holes were filled with fresh water, and she placed her stones inside! To prevent algal growth, she periodically takes the stones out of the water pits and rolls them in the grass, restoring their bright luster.

The clowder, by and large, supports Alderney and her collection. There is a different collection of stones at each of the clowder's seasonal denning sites, and it is always a point of excitement for new kits to travel between the various dens, just to see what new stones Alderney has collected!

Prompt: Bone is a very superstitious cat, and xe uses various bones that xe collected to make decisions and predict consequences to natural and "unnatural" events. The types of bones xe has range from mice ribs to fox jaws, with xir favorite being the red tailed hawk skull xe found while hunting one morning. Xe decorates xir nest with these bones and is trying to develop a way to wear them, but hasn't quite figured it out yet. This behavior unfortunately puts xem in a negative relationship with many other cats, as they find it strange or frightening, but xe tries to not let this stop xem from what makes xem truly happy. Those that do come to xem usually do for advice, as xe is keenly aware of the natural world and the various effects it might have on health and wellbeing. Xe enjoys being helpful and is always excited when xe can add a new type of bone to xir collection.

Prompt: Many cats scoff at this gentle she-cat for what she collects, often too busy to stop and appreciate the sounds of nature that Melody has grown to love. Sitting in the forest, a serene smile on her face, Melody can sit and listen to birdsong for hours, memorizing their tones, which bird makes what sounds, and hoping to pick up a lost feather.

An avid birdwatcher, Melody has a growing collection of bird feathers - one from each bird she identifies and listens to. She tucks them into her nests, a decoration that many cats scrunch their noses at, thinking her nest too flashy, but she doesn't intend for her nest to be the prettiest; she just intends for her nest to have the happiest associations for her so that she has good dreams when she sleeps.

Her favorite feather is from her favorite bird - the mourning dove. She finds their sounds so peaceful, yet sorrowful, a sound that takes her far away from the clan camp, and high up into the sky, thinking about what it would be like if her paws could leave the ground for good. She has taken a liking to climbing into the trees, hidden amongst the leaves, and watching the birds from their level instead of on the ground.

Harta likes to collect cattails! No, not cat tails... CATTAILS! You know, the plant? The tall things along the edge of the lake over there with the brown spongey things at the top. She doesn't mind getting her paws wet to collect them. Always having to collect new ones too in order to replace the deteriorating ones, she's seen quite often by the lakeside. The fact they eventually deteriorate doesn't bother her, she enjoys breaking them open and revealing the fluff that seems to expand into a never-ending pile. Also great material to make a nest out of since she loves having a soft bed to sleep in.

The fact they are called cattails is one of the main reasons she collects them. She finds it fascinating that they are somehow named after the tails of cats. When broken open they reveal an endless supply of fluff, far more than anyone would guess there is, and she finds it just so satisfying to break them open eventually. They also make great distractions when the attention of the clowder's cubs becomes too much, just bring out a cattail and they can chase it around until it eventually breaks apart and covers them in cattail fluff.

No, she won't ever add cat tails to her collection. No, she won't attack any tails (she may have when she was a kit, but she was a child just playing, you know, like most kittens do). No, she doesn't appreciate having cattails mixed up with cat tails, though she does understand why that is the case. And no, she isn't afraid to get condescending if you still don't understand what a cattail is so don't push it unless you want to listen to a lecture on cattails for the rest of the day.

May love collecting wild flowers, feathers and strings! For wild flowers she got this simple explanation why she collects them, it smells great, Beautiful colors, and each flowers she gather is unique.

For feathers... She just like them I guest? She have been collecting bird feathers since she was young, she mostly like colorful feathers, but fluffy ones are also her favorite!

She also have a bunch of strings next to her bed, she like playing with the strings, every time she plays with the strings it turned to a ball of strings, she also put extra things to her ball of strings, like... A bell that she got from her friend, feathers too apparently. She now actually have 2 ball of strings next to her bed :D
