Small Butterfly: "The Satyrinae, (Satyrs) commonly known as the browns, are a subfamily of the Nymphalidae. They were formerly considered a distinct family, Satyridae. This group contains nearly half of the known diversity of brush-footed butterflies." I've heard of brush-footed butterflies but I never knew they could be called Satyrs and I love this new fact I learned about these guys! I've seen more of these butterflies in our state than any other kind so now I have a fun tidbit to share with my family. <33

Large butterfly: "Texan Crescent caterpillars feed en masse throughout their early stages. They lay many trails of silk threads to anchor themselves to the plant and to serve as road maps for their siblings." I just thought this was adorable.

Bee: "Honey bees have five eyes." This is such an odd but fascinating number! I've heard tons about bees but not this specifically. Hopefully these facts were fun :D

credit more then three but two of them i wanna geek out about.

Cecropia Moth (right top): The cecropia moth is the largest moth in North America. A type of giant silk moth. Youโ€™ll quickly notice the bright bumps, called tubercles, on the caterpillars. These bumps come in three colorsโ€”blue, yellow and redโ€”and can change as they grow. I love colorful pillars.

Luna Moth (middle bottom): To identify a luna moth, look for broad, light green wings that look like a leaf. It has characteristic tail-like wings. This moth's wingspan can stretch four and a half inchesโ€”that's about the same length as an iPhone.

Rosy Maple Moth (middle top): Rosy Maple moth (Dryocampa rubicunda) is one of the smallest silk moths with a distinct color combination of variable intensity. They aren't dangerous but rosy maple moth caterpillar can sting. Its spines carry a toxin that might be poisonous when it comes to contact with the human skin. <---found this out the hard way kissing a baby pillar of another species as a child. >.<;

Tried to throw in some fun facts.

Won an event quid. Withdrawing :(

Atlas Moth - Once this moth comes out from the cocoon, it doesn't eat a single thing at all for the rest of its short life! When confronted by a predator this moth pretends to be a snake with the markings on the tip of the forewings!

Honey Bee - Surprisingly a lot of honey bee stingers can't actually pierce human skin, which means removals can be done with little protection!

Apollo Metalmark - The metallic look of the coloured spots found on their wings is what earned them the name Metalmark!

Moth
Honey Bee
Butterfly

    giant leopard moth (c)
giant leopard moths get attracted to electric lights during the night, but some experts conclude that more than the females, the males can be seen doing so with the beginning of summer. i have seen quite a few of these around my house! [source]

    blue-spotted emperor butterfly (c)
emperor butterflies generally communicate by physical gestures, such as color, the spreading of wings to identify the same species, behavior, and scent, known as pheromones, which further helps them identify and communicate within the same species, as parasites can be dangerous for them. [source]

    tiger bee fly (c)
the tiger bee fly is not a bee at all; it is a true fly. however, the insect's name and menacing appearance would lead one to believe this is one critter they need to avoid. it is one of the largest flies, measuring anywhere from 0.75 to 1.75 inches long. [source]
