Pic 1: Mother Crocodile with her nest
Fact: The temperature of a crocodiles nest is what determines if a hatchling is male of female.
Pic 2: Baya Weaver Bird nest
Fact: Mated pairs will build their nests close together in the same tree, but they will not connect the nests.
Pic 3: Puffer fish nest
Fact: Male puffer fish create large symmetrical nests, sometimes taking up to ten days to complete, and the nests must be maintained constantly. Theses nests can be over six feet in diameter, and if the female deems the males construction skills of the nest to be adequate, she will lay her eggs in the center of it.

1: ChinStrap Penguin - This is a Chinstrap Penguin on her nest. These penguins build circular nests and lay about 2 eggs. The males are actually the ones to build them! Cred

2: Brook Stickleback - The brook stickleback makes a nest of plants woven into round nests with an opening on one side. They are held together by a secretion from the male’s kidneys. Cred

3: Beaver - Beavers mate for life and have 1-6 kits per year. When they reach age 2 they leave the colony and find a mate of their own. Cred

Picture #1: A Killdeer Bird Nest
Fact: ”If a killdeer feels threatened, it uses the “broken wing display” to lure predators away from the nest or newly hatched chicks.”
[source] (These guys actually live where I live and I’ve seen the “broken wing display”- it’s quite entertaining and interesting to see!)
Picture #2: A Green Hermit Hummingbird Nest
    [source]
Fact: The green hermit's exact lifespan is not known. Hummingbirds are known to live up to five years. The oldest hummingbird was 12 years and two months who was a broad-tailed hummingbird. [source]
    Picture #3: A Bowerbird Nest
Fact: These birds strive to make their nests as flashy and impressive as possible and will even use “manmade objects as long as they match their color scheme, like Bic pens and bottlecaps” (Shown in photo) [source]

    sociable weaver birds nest (c)
the nests of sociable weaver birds can be up to six meters wide and three meters high, making these birdhouses the largest in the world — they can be home to over 200 birds at a time! [source]

    paper wasps nest (c)
these insects build nests out of paper but the coolest part is that they make the paper themselves! although they’re made out of paper, the wasp’s nests are naturally waterproof and pest resistant! [source]

    leaf curling spider web (c)
the australian leaf curling spider chooses a nice dead leaf and lines the leaf with silk, curling it to form a cozy retreat that's closed at the top and open at the bottom. they hang their creation in the center of a web and shelter there as they wait for passing prey. [source]

won a different sz! gl to everyone entering ♥
