Having finally been checked in and shown to her room, Aquarius flopped onto the comfy bed with a loud sigh. Introductions were never really her strong suit, and she detested having to come up with answers on the fly. Now that her anxiety had dissipated, the young Kalon could finally begin to unpack and figure out how she wanted to spend her vacation. Aquarius reluctantly jumped up from her bed and padded over to the quaint little coffee maker in one corner of the room. A grin formed on her face as she eyed the assortment of coffees and teas she could choose from. She picked up a delicious-looking peppermint tea and poured some water into the machine. The Kalon pressed the power button and stalked over to her suitcases, which she had meticulously placed by a small chest of drawers. Aquarius knelt down beside the small luggage and opened it, her paws instantly reaching out for her planner. She wasn't the type to do things on the fly and had long decided that she would spend her first night planning out the rest of her trip. A light ringing sounded from the other side of the room. Aquarius jumped up, excited to get a sip of the delicious beverage she'd made. Planner still in paw, the Kalon sat down at the chair aside the machine and pulled out her favorite purple pen. She could hardly write with how excited she was, and as she looked out the window at the snow-blanketed town, she could feel her heart swell. Snapping herself out of her momentary daze, Aquarius got to writing and began planning out the rest of her days in the beautiful village.

Prompt: Kassik darted to and fro in the main room of the Inn, staring at the schedule tacked on the wall with unconcealed excitement. Ice Fishing? Flower Picking? Astronomy? Everything sounded so exciting! He didn't often get to leave his snowy home, as Melusine was a busy Kalon and kept him busy (despite her complaints that she'd never asked for an apprentice, and he did most of the work around there anyways). But he'd heard about a Winter Festival happening in a faraway village and had begged off to be able to go. Despite all her bluster Kassik knew that his mentor would miss having him around, but she'd grudgingly admitted that it would do him good to do some traveling and see some other snowy climes.

So Kassik had packed his bag and made the journey all the way to Kalokairi Village, excitement in every step along the way. Even when he'd been traveling he'd seen so many new kalons of all different sizes, colors, and descriptions. It had been a long journey, to be certain, but worth it as soon as he crested the mountain and saw the snowy village nestled between the peaks.

Now he was here, and he was ready to get started enjoying himself to the best of his ability. And first things first... finding an activity to partake in! Everything sounded great, but the Ice Fishing was the most exciting for Kassik. He'd been fishing a couple times with Meirune before, but she didn't have the patience for it, always complaining that they were too busy for such idleness, and he didn't dare go alone or face her wrath. This was his time to see if he really had the skills. [ 286 words ]

Rose exited her quarters and ran out into the hustle and bustle of the village. She twirled around excitedly and watched as everyone participated in many activities. Oh what fun! She felt a snowflake touch her nose and she sneezed.
"I should go to flower picking first, flowers are my favorite thing in the whole wide world!" she chirped merrily and started flying over. It didn't take long before she was interrupted on her way there. In her hurry, Rose rammed straight into another visitor, knocking them into a snow pile as she herself went reeling backwards onto the ground. She sat up and just stared sheepishly as the stranger was standing away, yelling and shaking a fist at her before storming off.
"Oops..." she sighed and lifted herself up. There was a sharp pain in her left back foot when she tried to stand. She lifted it off the ground a moment and took a look at it. Nothing seemed wrong, but it definitely hurt! Rose sighed.
"Guess my first trip is gonna be the first aid tent... even though what I WANT to see first is the flowers!" she groaned and whined. "I can't continue having fun with a sore foot though..." she flittered her wings and started to make her way to the first aid tent.

"What does your Kalon want to see first?"

A thin veil of tiny snowflakes drifted down from a cloud-laden skyline, pierced by great mountain peaks nestling the tiny village in a powerful embrace. Drifts piled high along the cozy wooden walls of handcrafted chalets and cabins, each tucked close as if they, too, huddled together to stay warm. Rich firelight poured from the windows even as dusk remained hours away, the blanketed gray sky lulling the land to a gentle winter's quiet. But even from this distance, voices carried up into the crest of the mountain pass where Yvei now rode carefully, guiding each step of the aging dappled mare along the sleigh-runner-paved trail.

Her eyes followed the guide of cloven hoofprints, now paced by her horse's rounded shoes as snow crunched softly underfoot. Pulling tight on the lapels of her fur-lined jacket, she could feel the creep of cold as her breath, as well as her mount's, sent puffs of white into the afternoon air. Nearly there. Her gloved fingers coaxed the neck of her lovely companion, and she wondered just how well the old girl could bear the burden of the cold.

"We'll find you a warm stable soon, love," she cooed, giving a reassuring pat-pat against the muscular neck, fur just beginning to frost over with the sweat of exertion. The air was thinner here, and both of them seemed to be feeling its pull.

The trail grew more compacted as their descent into the valley continued, and despite herself, Yvei urged the mare on, picking up speed to a blissful trot as the scent of wood smoke permeated their senses. With it, a memory of warmth, of which right now she could desire nothing more.

It was no real trouble to secure their place in the stables, a roaring hearth and a shelter from the light snowfall mingled with the must of hay and animal sweat. A familiar feeling, with the icy breeze now entirely at bay. Whispering sweetly to the old girl, she held her nose in her hands a few moments before thanking the stablehand and sliding fair fingers back into the warmth of her gloves. She'd seen the sign on her way past, not but a building away-the Foxfire Inn.

The heavy door drifted open with easy and the warmth of light and laughter surrounded her. It seemed she wasn't the only wandering soul to have found her way to this hidden haven. The sounds of chatter couldn't cover the crackle of a roaring fire, and she felt herself swooning at only the thought. She'd hardly made her mark on the guestbook when a heavy hand made her start, and she turned with a whisper of fear to see a towering figure looming over her now. That shiver, she supposed, was not from the cold.

His smile broke through, and she gave a sign of relief, pulling her jacket tighter once more before nodding her response.

"Yes, the festival," she agreed, and as he inquired of her immediate plans, a gentle laugh escaped her as well, like a birdsong in the wake of his lionlike roar. "All I need now is the warmth of the fireside. Everything else is going to have to wait."

Cheeks rosy, she gave one last nod, carrying on to unwind by the warm, dancing flames.

What does your Kalon want to see first ?
Until recently, Klee's never been able to wander around the world of the living. Always being contained to that solemn graveyard since days after her birth. So she's not sure what this mountain village may hold instore for her; to be frank having little interaction with the outside world makes practically everything and anything that'd she do first into a core memory she'll always hold dear. All the tales she'll tell her patron, or better yet how she'll attempt to react as she'll insist words won't do it all justice. Upon arrival here through, she knows snow. For the time being she can answer that; thinking back Klee has always welcomed it when it would flutter down onto mossy headstones. However, this amount of snow she's never been accustom to and doesn't think she'll ever be able too as it comes up to her neck ( through she won't deny how much enjoyment she's getting from rummaging through; making various tunnels and popping out to greet all the incoming guests ). Perhaps this isn't an answer that the others around her would utter, more excited for all the crafts and activities that the employees here have set up for this gathering. However, Klee never been one to align her desires with others. The snow was the first thing she wanted to see and so it was; she sets her horizons low and has yet to be disappointed by what life has to offer ( or even simply what this event may hold ).
