Prompt: What does your Kalon want to see first?

Bluebell sat on the bed, pondering what she should do first.
When booking for her holidays, she'd read online that Kalokairi had a large sled run.
She pulled out a map of the mountain - she'd nabbed one from the lobby on the way to her room - and squinted at the symbols on the legend. Upon identifying the one for toboggan runs, she searched for "Kalokairi" on the map. After a little longer than she would like to admit, she found the village, and the small set of unusually long toboggan runs that branched out and then reunited in Kalokairi. Except one, which led to a completely different village - she made a mental note to watch out for that.

Putting her back paw on the map so she wouldn't lose the spot, Bluebell opened her suitcase, took out a pencil, and drew a circle around the runs she was interested in, just for good measure.
Then, she pulled out her three identical red mini-sleds/hand shovels, chose one, stuffed her essential belongings into her ski jacket's many inside pockets, and headed downstairs.

She waved to the innkeeper on the way out, then trudged through the snow to get a ski pass - she planned to spend the whole afternoon sledding, hoping that she would come home still in full possession of both her gloves and hat. But if she didn't - it was no big deal. She'd packed two extra sets anyway.

honestly,the last thing dahlia wanted to do was go on some trip to the mountains in the middle of nowhere. yet here she was, forced along by cas with promises of "you'll enjoy it" and "it'll be good for you, stop scowling at me". it's not as if she needed to be out in nature, she quite literally lives in the middle of a dense forest. she misses her home, she misses her chicken, and she certainly misses not freezing her ass off.

dahlia grumbled to herself she pulled on protective snow gear, not that anything helped being that she was raised in a fairly hot place. cas was all smiles and giggles as she watched her girlfriend stumble out the door, bundled in scarves and sweaters. the pair set off into the village, oo'ing and aah'ing at all the sights. and suddenly, dahlia spotted it, the ice skating rink. the perfect plan of revenge formulated in her mind as she ushered cas over.

and before they knew it the pair were on the rink, blades strapped to their feet. cas looked over, apprehension written all over her face. dahlia laughed as she gently pushed her girlfriend forward, calling after her, "you'll enjoy it!" with a smug expression on her face. yeah, this was definitely something she wanted to see first thing in the morning

Sonatina couldn't wait. Snow! Mountains! Cabins! What's skiing? Ice fishing? Men made of snow? Wow, the trees have no leaves! Tina basically burst out of her cabin, feeling like a little puppy in a room filled with toys. She wasn't behaving very elegantly, but no one here knew who she was, so it didn't matter! Freedom! She would scream, but whatever amount of self-awareness left warned her very strictly not to act like such a fool. It also warned her not to burn up all her energy, but that was promptly ignored as she bounced around looking at the wooden walls of buildings, at the icy cobblestone path, even attempting to climb up the pine trees - if her teachers could see her, they would explode. She must look like a madwoman, giggling to herself while looking at all the things that must be mundane to the people living here. But it was all so new, and she couldn't spare a fleeting thought to how she appeared. She's done enough of that at the Academy. This was her time to be free! Her time to look around, to learn things first hand, instead of reading about these far-away places.

And in thinking about that, she finally stopped to take a breath, and properly look around her. The scenery. That's right. This was what she wanted to see when she first heard about this village. Endless expanses of white, yet the terrain underneath is still so visible. Soaring mountaintops that pierce the clouds, higher than that clocktower the Academy was so proud of. Valleys speckled with green, as the snow slid off the slanted branches of trees. Surrounded, truly, by nature. Only nature.

Sterling carefully sets his bag down at the foot of the room's bed, taking a cursory glance around the room.
It looks nice enough, not that he plans to spend much time in it anyway. The window is slightly ajar and he takes a deep breath of the cold, fresh air, turning his breath to vapour as he exhales slowly.

On a small side table next to the bed lay a flyer detailing the various activities avalaible at the festival.
Immediately, he rules out skiing as a feasable pasttime - he's not one for risky activities that have the potential to end in injury.

No, he'd quite like to do something relaxing. It's not often that he gets a break from his work, mounting responsibilities keeping him firmly at his desk most days.
He doesn't mind much, usually enjoying his work, but occasionally, even he gets a bit stressed. His annoying collegues don't help much either.

Sterling's eye catches on one of the listed activities: trivia night at the local coffee shop.
He smiles. Perfect. He closes the window, grabs a warm scarf out of his bag, and walks out the door, already thinking of warm drinks and interesting questions.

The first thing April did? LAUNCH herself onto the bed, that's what. Swiftly her bags had been abandoned by the door, favouring the cosiness the bed had to offer. And it did not disappoint. April sunk into mattress and squealed excitedly. "It's like laying on a cloud!" Not that they knew what clouds felt like, but if they had to guess it would feel like this.

Eventually though, she did pick herself up. The pink bobble hat which was on her head before was lost, consumed by the bed. They still had their scarf at least. They'd probably end up finding the hat later when they were getting ready to doze off for the night. As tempted as she was to spend the entire vacation in a cushty pillow fortress she was desperate to try some of the activities they had to offer. "What do they even have up here, anyway..? They found themself wondering aloud. Maybe they could go back to the reception? She snapped her fingers. That's right! She did remember to grab a leaflet before making a swift escape for her room. With a look back towards the semi closed door, she saw the brochure laying limp against the bags she dropped earlier. She made a beeline for the pile, keenly grabbing the folded paper as she settled on the floor.

Fishing, no. Flower pick- "Oh my god." April was stood up now, sort of bouncing excitedly. "Reindeer racing!?" They didn't even remember seeing that advertised! Needless to say, she quickly leapt for the door. Even if they weren't ready to race now she just had to meet the reindeer. "Oh my gosh I bet they're so cute. How many do they even have here?"

The brochure comically cascaded to the floor, settling next to the bags again as she left the room just as quickly as she entered. It would be a miracle if she ever took a break long enough to unpack them.

Having trekked down the mountain for the Festival taking place in Kalkairi Village, Alaska was excited to acquaint herself with her new surroundings after checking in at the Firefox Inn. The Firefox Inn, although crowded due to the festival season, felt as welcoming as Alaska's own home, especially with the friendly Toma to welcome her in. Her room was even more welcoming, warm with the comfiest bed Alaska had ever had the pleasure of laying on. The small window in her room was slightly frosted over, letting the natural light gently pour in.

Through the window, Alaska has a great view of Kalikairi - though, to be honest, she can imagine every room in the inn has a good one, considering the sheer beauty of the place. Snow floated softly in the sky and every kalon's breath was visible in the air. The whole village was truly as if someone had transported her inside of a snowglobe - serene and picturesque from every angle.

Alaska was no stranger to cold and wintry environments - she lived secluded in the mountains - but she had never been around so many other kalons at once before. And let's just say, many kalons from far and wide had come to enjoy the Festival. This excited her just as much as it made her nervous. The best way to calm her nerves? A nice walk around the scenic town.

As Alaska padded through the village, something kept catching her eye. She had noticed multiple sleighs that had passed by her, loaded with festival supplies and carried by teams of reindeer. Alaska knew when she was looking into the Festival’s activity schedule that there was a series of reindeer races held yearly - known as the Reindeer Cup - and she found that seeing the reindeers out and about in town sparked an interest in them and the race.

Alaska decided that the reindeer stables were the thing she wanted to see first. She changed her direction and headed for them, purpose filling her previously casual walk as excitement built up in the kalon. Perhaps she could help out there and even try to get in on the Reindeer Cup herself!

Mihai grumbled as he took in his room, this was not the break he had planned for, honestly, did his friends not even know him? Taking in his wardrobe he huffed just a little at the lack of warmer winter clothes. He had really pictured warm beaches with waves and dolphins when they had mentioned going on a surprise trip for a festival, they had gone to his ideal, the warmer side of things.

Guess not.

This was probably on them for not specifying the temperature before packing as well as leaving him to pack on his own. With a bundle of jumpers stolen from friends thoroughly thrown onto him the second they saw him, Mihai knew they were not heading the the warm and bright colorful festival they were hoping. Well, not the one they were expecting at the very least.

Looking around the room and to his collection of shorts and tank tops, Mihai sighed. First on the agenda? New clothes, surely there was a shop around here somewhere with some warmer things. There has to be, otherwise, guess he's just gonna be borrowing clothes from friends for the rest of his time here. Honestly, he would go for either option at this point, so long as he managed to get his body temperature above average he'd be happy. Events and activities could wait, the first thing Mihai would be seeing were the stores.

Bullseye enters the lodge with his partner and stretches out on the bed. It’s far more comfortable than the one they have at home and he takes a moment to sink into it and relax his bones. It’s been a long trip and, quite honestly? The thing he’s been looking forward to the most has been laying down and getting some much needed rest from the Arkade and from responsibilities in general.

But the genuine joy and excitement he hears from his recently-adopted son Lucien is contagious and he finds himself getting excited for the vacation as well. There are so many things to do here at the resort and it’s hard to pick one thing out of everything. Now, none of them sound very exciting to Bullseye personally (Who wants to stare at stars while on vacation anyway? The stars are out all the time. How lame.) but he’s excited on behalf of his little family.

“Skiing.” Is what he finally comes up with, a little grin on his face. He’s never done it before and he’s almost certain he’s going to wipe out and break his only good arm, but it might (just might!) be worth it if it means seeing Lucien and Malware have fun too.
