During the Christmas season, she goes all out and gives her friends what she really believes will make their lives better and more enjoyable. She's scared of being vulnerable, so tries to make herself tough and rough, rarely accepting anything without at least jabbing out with a light sarcastic remark. She acts confident but is really not, she's self-conscious and wants to be liked, thinking that this is the only way how. But the Christmas season changes Yume every year. She becomes kind and welcoming and gives to everyone she even remotely considers her friends. She uses Christmas to apologize for everything she's ever done. And each year she becomes kinder, the Christmas spirit leaving her mark on her and only growing stronger as the years progress.

Soda had woken up to a text from her best friend.
"Not feeling good today. I won't be able to come over tonight, I'm sorry!"
Are they sick? Sad? Angry? Well, whatever it is, it would be willing to make them feel at least a bit better. He grabbed his bag, a small pouch of money, and headed out the door. It started to snow that morning, so immediately she thought something warm would be perfect. As he walked into town, the smell of soup caught his attention. The smell was so calming, perfect for a cold winter day. It excitedly ran over to the soup place and placed an order some pumpkin soup. The soup would t be ready for a bit, so he decided to make a quick trip to the store as well. He grabbed a duck plushie, his friends favorite animal! They were sure to love it. It has a scarf, it was perfect.
After half an hour, Soda was walking over to its friends house. She was carrying a plastic bag that smelled of soup, and a small gift bag filled with tissue paper. The smell of soup filled the air as he approached his friend's house.
He knocked on the door and yelled "Hey! It's Soda Pop, I have something for you." After a good 30 seconds of nothing, the door opened. His friend was wrapped in a blanket. They looked upset, but as soon as they saw the bags and smelled the soup, they smiled.
"Thank you" they said

It always makes Soda's day when it can make her friend cheer up.

The best time is any time.
The perfect time is your time.

For Poppy, gift giving is something she loves to do, weather it be for Christmas, a birthday, an anniversary, some other holiday, or even just because. She just loves spreading a smile we're she can.
From spring, to summer, To fall, and winter, there is no difference, no perfect session when it comes to giving a gift.

But for Poppy in particular, her most favorite of times to give a gift, is when she's at her worst. Not when she's in a bad mood or being a jerk worst, but when life decides to turn on its head.

The times when she just feels sad, the days when she gets yelled at by a perfect stranger for no reason. or when she makes a mistake at her job,
Or even when she's going through a little bit of financial problems, or even as simple as just having a bad day, were nothing seems to go right.
It is times like this, in those very moments dose she enjoy giving gifts the most.

And the reason for this is, is when she's sad, or hurting, thinking of others rather then the hard can help. It can make it easier rather then just sitting and dwelling on it all. Plus you never know what others might be going through, for all you know someone could be going through the exact same struggles as you, and even just that one small amount of kindness can mean the world to them.

And seeing the joy her small gesture of kindness can bring some people, is more then enough to sooth the struggles and hardship she's going through. And though it never can fully help, heal, or even fix everything she's feeling or going through, it definitely make things a lot easier to bear,
As she's found that she doesn't have to go through it alone.

So even though she loves to give gifts on any occasion, it is during these times that are her favorite.

Maggie loves giving gifts on Christmas Eve the most.
She and her sixteen cousins have this family tradition that they call their "merry gift-athon", and have been doing it since they were all children.
They would go door to door and offer to shovel driveways in exchange for money, and it was up to the homeowners to decide the amount they would pay once they had finished.

For a moment before continuing, just imagine seventeen kids split into two groups, or all together if the driveway was really long, swiftly shoveling driveway after driveway, like a bunch of giggling monkeys running around and then boom! In a flash your driveway was magically clear and they had already gone to the next.
Back to the story.

They would then in turn set the money they earned aside and save it up before buying as many toys as they could with it.
They then dressed up as little Santas, each with a toy filled sack, and hand delivered them to sick children in hospitals and kids in homeless shelters on Christmas Eve.
Sometimes it was hard seeing the state the children were in, but the joy it gave those kids, that's all that this was about and it gave them just as much joy knowing that they brought a smile to those kid's hearts.

Being an adult now, Maggie still holds that tradition with her cousins, even if they all can't be shoveling the same driveways together, it's the tradition that carries on wherever you are and with however many people.
They also invite friends to pitch in the holiday spirit, so it's not like someone is always alone out in the cold either.
Maggie even goes the extra mile by pouring her own money into the "merry gift-athon" stash, telling everyone if she's got extra dough from November and December it's going in the stash!
She also upgraded her Santa costume at some point over the years to a hot pink one with a sequenced hat, a bit flashy, but she says the color and sparkle matches her personality, and it gives the kids a smile when she walks in.

Maggie loves this tradition so much because she's able to give out gifts to kids who are going through a rough time.
So Christmas Eve is her favorite time of every year to give gifts, it brings her so much happiness being able to bring joy to others.
