moodboard "Wolfpaw? Oh yeah, him! He's amazing! A little bit of a loner, but I made an effort to include him in games and conversations and whatnot." The apprentice leaned closer to you, holding up her paw to block her voice from one side. "I think he has a little crush on me, to be honest," she peeped, eyes wide. "But don't tell him!" She smirked and bounded over to a dark apprentice. She playfully bumped him and joked around, only to be met with a slight hiss from the tomcat. Scarletpaw looked back at you and winked, as if to say
I told you so!The tom cat got up, shook off the invisible cooties, and sat by another apprentice.

moodboard "Scarletpaw? You mean that annoying bouncing little ball of stupid fur? Yeah, I think I know her. I mean, it's not like she follows me around, tries to play with me and joke around with me or anything, but...Oh wait. She does. Constantly. Everyday. I can't get anything done, like EVER. I just wish she'd finally leave me alone. I don't have time to babysit an oblivious mouse brain like her."

You murmur something to him, and watch as his snarl melts into a blank confusion. "She thinks I
like her?! How stupid is she? I hate her! She nags me from dawn to dusk! I can't catch a break from her! Although...it's sweet how she tries to be nice to me...But...Nevermind! Ugh!" Wolfpaw scoffed, puffing out his fur as he stomped over to the apprentice's den, an air of mock, but convincing, hatred looming over him.

Wolfpaw stumbled around blindly, the ferns adorned with the thickest layer of white powder imaginable, confusing his brain, wiping his location like a crumb licked up. He began to mewl, not knowing what else to do, helplessness seized his heart. I'm going to die out here, he wailed in his head, listening to it echo from one end to the next, only missing the sound of cave water dripping to complete the ambience. The apprentice mewed and plead with mother nature to lead him back to camp. His throat felt like it was being scraped by claws with every sound he squeezed out of it. The paws Wolfpaw treaded on aimlessly were a bright, unnaturally saturated red, and numb, the feeling of touch completely lost to them. It felt like his coat of fur wasn't even there. The wind charged right through the cracks and plunged straight into his skin, cold, icy needles jabbing at him from all sides. An involuntary shiver ran down his spine. Wolfpaw shrugged it off as best he could, the feeling of being purely alone dragging down his mood. I'm gonna die out here, his thoughts resounded. He let loose one last mewl, a call to StarClan to accept the meek body with open paws and warm smiles. The tom's frozen appendages straightened with a shrill shiver and he toppled over, letting the powder encase him.
"Wolfpaw!"
He closed his eyes, accepting his fate. This was his destiny: to die out in the foreboding cold, no one around to talk to, or even look at. A snapping twig made his ears instinctively perk up, but his body was solidified to the snow. Nevertheless, he might as well gaze upon the lucky beast that happened upon his dying body. Wolfpaw opened his eyes and was met by a blurry peach figure, vaguely feline shape, with a hood so scarlet, it matched his paw pads. Scarlet...kit?
His mind was sluggish, rock-solid from the freezing temperature, but the one thought that came up was filled with so much warmth and love it could have formed a desert around the cat, extending miles on end.
"Wolfpaw! What are you doing out here? Everyone's so worried. I came looking and-" The peach she-cat stopped, eyes widening at her friend's dire state. "Oh no...No, no no! It-It's gonna be ok, Wolfpaw. I'll um, I'll go get help!" Her eyes were filled with so much sorrow, then, like a squirrel snatching up a nut, her expression changed, brightened by a sudden thought. "There's a patrol out looking for you! I'll go get them-" Scarletpaw sped off before her words reached his shaking, numb ears. The cat smiled faintly and closed his eyes once more.
He opened them to the warmth of the Healer's den. Bleary eyed and stiff, Wolfpaw opened his peepholes and found his friend, Scarletpaw beside him. Her back was turned, showing off her peachy stripes, but the tom cat knew she'd stayed with him the entire time, and for that, he was forever in her debt.
