The Puli is a flock dog. They're used to herd and protect livestock, despite looking like a sheep itself haha (source)

belgian tevuren: i LOVE this breed!! it's the lesser known (maybe?? idk how well known they are) cousin of the belgian malinois. the belgian tevuren is very high energy, and a great herding dog. oh, and also gorgeous, if you couldn't tell!! just look at that coat <3

    ALENTEJO MASTIFF (image source), more commonly known now as rafeiro do alentejo, is a livestock guardian breed originating from the alentejo region in portugal. nearer to the breed's origin, they were most commonly used as shepherding and guardian dogs; driving livestock north and south during the transhumance while doubling as protection against cattle rustlers and rival tribes at the time. in later years though and with the modernization of agriculture, they've become an exceedingly rare breed as their usage in portugal has fallen out of favor; with the 80s being the most critcal point of their decline.

    Omg these were so hard to choose from, there were so many amazing ones but this one wins because I literally had to take a second look because I couldn't even see that dog at first lol! He looks so happy ;-;

    I'm also going to give 2 RU's to Olivionary and BadgerBuddies! I love ratting dogs - I had a Jack Russell Terrier a few years ago and that was her favourite thing! And that fearless Newfoundland, amazing!
