Being one of the oldest stallions in the herd, Thunderhead is revered. Covered in old battle scars, Thunderhead is quite the imposing horse, despite his smaller stature. He's the herds head centurion and has led many successful war parties. Many horses consider it an honor to serve by his side. Thunderhead is level-headed, intelligent, and an exellect strategist. He spends most of his time patrolling the outskirts of the territory, usually a yearling or two alongside him. When he's not patrolling or planning an attack, he loves telling the foals, or any horse really, about his adventures. You wouldn't think it, but Thunderhead is an amazing storyteller. Numerous foals, yearlings, and even older horses flock to Thunderhead whenever they hear he's about to tell a story. Thunderhead is courageous, kind, and maybe a tad cocky, but his herd loves him anyway.

Zircon is a quiet one that will require some time to open and warm up but that doesn’t mean he would outright shy away from new folks. He’s more than happy to interact but he doesn’t let them in just yet. However, once you’ve gone past his barrier. The most significant trait is how stubborn he can be. When he sets his mind to something, he’s doing it. This brings forth his determination but it also leads him to be rather narrow-minded at times. It may take some convincing and even then, not all are successful at convincing Zircon but he might just change his mind. He’s as tough as he looks and performs well in whatever he does. However, cross him once and that’s it. Zircon never gives second chances.
He can be quite the grouch which doesn’t get him much attention at all but he values the circle of friends he’s made. He does offer some good advices when younger horses approach him. Zircon gives the vibe of that cranky old neighbour but would only keep to himself and grumble under his breath.

Prompt: Dock has been at Rainbow Reflection Ranch since he was a colt. He's known amongst the trainers and stable hands as one of the most laid-back and friendly fellows found on the Ranch. Since he isn't any kind of show off, he is used as a riding pony for children's birthday parties or for first time riders visiting RRR to learn how to ride. With children and fearful riders, he is slow and patient. Hardly anything spooks this boy except Halloween décor. Plastic skeletons? Howling animatronic werewolves? Flickering jack-o-lanterns? No thank you! Dock will immediately shy away from anything that creepy. During the beginning of autumn when Halloween rolls around, Dock earns himself a couple months of rest from his riding duties and gets to chill in the pasture or in his stall as far away from the Halloween activities as possible. He loves cool breezes, sugar cubes, and being stroked by the tiny hands of the children who ride him. Other than Halloween decorations, there isn't much Dock dislikes except wet straw or wet hay in his stall. He's a real sweetheart and a pleasure to have around Rainbow Reflection Ranch!

The expanse is wide, infinite, never-ending. He wants to go, to explore, to leave and never come back.

And yet — he must stay. He must stay, because all the others stay. The Earth yearns for him to stay. That is how their castle works. The Wind explores, the Earth protects. He cannot protect his herd from afar, so he stays.

“How old are you?” an ignorant mare inquires.

Adrastos bristles at the question. “Younger than you,” he replies stiffly. He knows it’s true by many seasons.

“Oh,” the mare realizes. “You look old,” she states.

This is not the first time someone elder asked his age. It frustrates the stallion to no end. He has yet to see his second year, and horses eight seasons older think him old. “That impression, what gives?” Adrastos dares prod.

The mare scrutinizes him as if she doesn’t even know. “Um,” she stumbles. “You look… a spark. You’re missing that spark from young ones’ eyes!” the mare claims. “Yes, that’s it. You’re missing the spark.”

Witnessing the mare’s excitement, Adrastos can tell that she is not missing the spark. But he is? (It’s because you are trapped, his mind uselessly supplies. Because you want to run, but by oath, you cannot.)

“I see.” Adrastos ends the conversation there. Mind heavy, he walks away.

“Who is the protagonist of your story?” a little bird asks, literally.

Adrastos cranes his head to look high in the tree and replies, “Not me. My mind weighs me down, and I am boring.” Those of the Wind often returned with tales of shock and danger. Those of the Earth existed. They slowly waste away.

The bird, however, does not look impressed. “Who is the protagonist of your story?” it asks again.

Adrastos remains silent for some time. “Me,” he mutters reluctantly, “even if I am boring. I am the protagonist of my own story.”

“Then go make yourself unboring,” the bird replies. If birds could shrug nonchalantly, it would.

“May I?” Adrastos asks, bewildered. He wants to — he yearns for it. Excitement dances in his soul, yet he wastes away, chained to the Earth.

“You would not be the first to leave,” the bird states. “If you leave, you will meet your rider early — two sunsets from now.”

Finally, finally, a spark lights in young Adrastos’ eyes. “Thank you,” he breathes.

Adrastos leaves immediately. He gallops into the woods, pathless, following the setting sun, He doesn’t bother to return to the castle, to tell anyone where he’s going. They’ll know. And if they don’t, then they never cared enough.

“Thank you,” the stallion whispers again, days later, with a kind rider upon his back.

For the bird’s name was Fate.

Stella is a very quiet, gentle mare. So quiet and gentle in fact that she had been often overlooked and underestimated. Horses tend to look at her and assume she is a pushover, or shy, quiet because she has nothing to say, nothing to add to a conversation. But the opposite is true.
Stella is a very clever mare, so clever she knows that more often than not it is better to listen and observe than to speak first. She knows when to hold her tongue, and when to express her opinion. In her previous herd she was the lead mare because it was these abilities that made her a good and dependable leader. But she doesn't really talk about her past, about how she lost it all...
So no one knows. Horses who meet her now seldom get the right first impression, and not many really try to uncover the truth.
Little do they know that Stella is gentle but would fight like a lion in a heartbeat to save those she loves. Little do they know that despite being quiet she is very shrewd and diplomatic. She could be a real asset to any herd that would just realize what is right under their muzzles.

Stella hopes that one day she will find a home again, one where the herd takes the time to really know her and gives her a chance to fit in and show them all what she is really made of. Maybe one day she can even have the family she always dreamed of, foals of her own to love and protect.
While she has only just begun to hope again for a better future, some fears do still linger in her mind and heart. What if she can't protect a new family, a new herd any better than her last one? What if she loses it all again? What if no one else ever wants her, maybe she lost the only chance she was ever going to get?
But recently she has come across a new herd, and they are helping to keep her hope alive...perhaps it will be her chance to heal from the past and move through some of her grief to embrace happiness and hope once more.
