Quarter what a dreadful name. A name as mundane as the stall he currently lived in. He dreaded life with the humans and he disliked how they named horses. And well Quarter always proved how much he disliked the humans by throwing temper tantrum’s and spouting dragon’s breath like he had watched the mare’s do when ever they didn’t get their way. Each day soon began to go down the same exact way: 9 am, rearing. 10 am, knock all food and water troughs over in the stall. 11 am, bite Karen and Karen’s daughter. 12, small snack attack and eat all the sugar. 1 pm, solve world hunger while being gassy. 2 pm, get caught for crimes. Quarter was proud of it the first few times but soon after awhile both him and his owners was getting tire. His once vibrant eyes and dragon snorts turned into long days of standing tied to a hitching post while the other horses romped and grazed through the fields.

It seemed only good horses got treats. And the owner’s assumed it was best to teach him a lesson this way and maybe the other horses would teach him some manners to. Well after his multiple days of the same lesson, it seemed Quarter in fact did not learn his lesson at all. The owners obviously frustrated decided to turn him over to the next best place, Marsh Saints Stables. A sanctuary of all horses wild and well trouble makers like Quarter. Quarter at first hated the stables till he met a small volunteers daughter name Mitzi. The girl was nervous around horses but with Quarter, she ran up and gave him a big wide hug. Maybe Quarter wouldn’t actually hate this place like he did with the others…

And after a few good months he soon loved to learn the place and his name.

Prompt: Duchess is a beauty, and she knows it. Any time she sees a person nearby, she immediately flaunts her stuff and shows off. If she's in her stall in the stable, she'll pop her head out over the lower door and start shaking her head so that her mane shimmies against her neck. If she's out in the field, she'll run daintily up to the person and then walk deliberately up and down the fence beside them, head bobbing and tail up. The last thing you want to do is ignore her when she's showing off. Duchess can hold a grudge! Don't acknowledge her presence, and she will snub you until you make it up to her with lots of sugar cube treats! A nice, warm bath followed by a good brushing will also appease her, especially if her coat is looking particularly dirty. Duchess hates to be dirty.

She knows that in the future, the right one will appear and she won't even have any searching to do, so she figures, why stress about it if she's already happy?

Prompt: There's a reason this queenly mare was given a name that means royalty - she lords over the preserve. One might think, though, she was disliked for it, or she rose to her position cruelly, but the reality is exactly the opposite. Raigna came to Skywyvern before many of the other horses, and even as a youngling she held her ground against thew few elementals and mundane horses. She was brave, and held her head high even in the face of creatures much larger than she, and they all grew to respect her rather quickly. As she came of age, Raigna gathered her own herd on the preserve lands, but again, without the cruelness of a stallion rounding up his mares or fighting another to claim more - rather, she shielded mares from their stallions, giving those who wished to leave the choice to. We've never observed her in a fight that she herself started, and she never seems to chase opponents further than necessary. Really, her compassion is almost human, and we wonder what her life was like before us.

More than that, she's incredibly intelligent; when you look into her eyes, you can almost see the thoughts churning like clouds behind them. She's expressive with her eyes, her ears. She isn't a mystery, rather she communicates loud and clear. She knows the staff at the preserve are there to help, and a good portion of the injuries and sicknesses we treat are found because she brings the horse to us, or us to it. She seems to want as much harmony as we do, really. She's even brought predators to us to be treated, the same ones she protects the herds from come to be protected by her when they need it.

We sincerely think our mission here would not have succeeded has greatly as it has without Raigna. We celebrate every victory, no matter how small, and she has single-hoofedly brought about many of those victories. She's served as the bridge between us and the elementals, brokering a peace with even wild fae, forest spirits, druids, the list goes on. Still yet, she is just a horse! She enjoys rolling in the fields - and mud... - and sneaking treats from every source available. She has troubles with surrendering her feet to the farrier, but strangely seems to be head over heels in love with our vet, standing still for anything and everything they do. She is a young horse still, and plays and races across the preserve without a care in the world who sees or judges, sending earth and worries flying from her feet behind her.

Kleio is soft when Hyperion needs someone to calm him down and rough enough to handle Hyperion's energy. Because of this the two are always beside each other's side.

Prompt: Ephyra is one of the quietest horses in her herd. She isn't one to speak many words unless she has to, but she maintains a very friendly and positive attitude to her herd despite seeming to be the loner-type. She can often be seen talking more to little sparrows and other birds who come to rest and build nests in the trees surrounding the herd's territory. Nobody knows why she is this way, but they still accept her for who she is. Out of all the birds she chats with, there are two little sparrows who both have peculiar white markings on their heads who are always flying around her, they are two of her closest friends, who aren't horses. One memory she has is one time when she had fallen asleep, she woke up to find a beautiful array of purple flowers in her mane and tail. She soon found out who had done this as beside her the two sparrows were nested in a small pile of petals, with little purple stains on their beaks, claws, and wings. This memory for Ephyra is a great one as it makes her smile every time she thinks about it. :3
