Wolf had big dreams in regard to what race they would be born as in the new fully immersive game pod. A world called dream, that had just been released. The game would automatically choose a class based on your personality for you to be born into. Some were lucky and were born as high class elves, great summoners or even fairies. Others were less lucky being born into the monster race or even the demon race of which most people died in their first few gameplay as those species had the unlucky habit of getting eaten by the stronger ones of the species. Wolf believed they'd be born into the illusive and strong race of dragons, Wolf believed themself to be very noble. However, the higher one hopes, the more crushing reality is.
Wolf screamed into the sky at the injustice. They hadn't been born into any of the cool races, they hadn't been born as an elf like their best friend or a fairy like their roommate. No. Wolf had been born as a human and not even a good class of human. Wolf wasn't a summoner, a mage, or even their least favourite a swordsman, no they were born as a class worse than that. Wolf looked down miserably at the object in their hand. A shovel. Wolf was born as the lowest class, no special skill, no amazing stats, Wolf was born as a farmer. Now you think it can't be that bad. YOU ARE WRONG!
They had no skills to speak of besides a skill called 'cabbage king' which made them skilled in planting, growing and harvesting cabbages; the cabbages didn't even have any buff abilities like giving extra strength or agility, no they were just normal cabbages. Their stats were a sight to behold, the old woman npc who sold radishes at the corner could beat him to the ground. Pretty much they are a waste class, but this wasn't the worst thing… Wolf couldn't change their race because no matter the capsule they logged into, their personality was seen by the system to fit a farmer.
So Wolf began their idle life as a cabbage farmer… for some reason though a lot of players are coming to them, talking about some sort of gold cabbage that gives you amazing powers. 'Crazy people', Wolf thought as they ate a salad of gold cabbage leaves.

The golden cabbage, a rare item that could only be grown by one player known as the farmer. A rare existence, a player that could make such an item that gave others a random ability with no repercussions. Everyone longed for this item, but there was one big problem. The farmer thought everyone was crazy, they themself ate the golden cabbages like one would a bag of potato chips. The farmer themself didn't gain any ability hence why they believed everyone to be looney.
How did the rest of the players know the cabbage gave abilities you ask. Well this is simple, a random player helped the farmer with fixing his roof, so the farmer gave him a golden cabbage. When the player ate the cabbage they gained the ability to summon despite being a swordsman. This happened a few more times until a game blogger came alongside helping the farmer with some watering, got given then ate a cabbage... the rest is history.
Then the farmer received an influx of people wanting to help them to get golden cabbage (some people attempted to steal but the cabbage would rot if anyone but the farmer touched it). So the only way to get a golden cabbage is if the farmer willingly gave it to you. But as you can probably tell, due to so many players wanting to help the farmer to get a cabbage, the farmer became a bit suspicious and freaked out. Thus starting his life as a reclusive farmer, every now and then a golden cabbage was seen in the market place but the payment was quite weird; 1 cabbage for a piece of dragon gold, 10 cabbages for a dragon scale, 100 cabbages for the rights to a dragon cave. What a weird farmer.
