Name
Virva

Gender
Lunarian (she/they pronouns)

Prompt
"Help! Help, I'm lost!"
The desperate cries of a young lambaby perforated Virva's consciousness as they peered into the mortal plane from the Faerie Otherworld. Concern pierced the solemn lambicorn's heart. She could hear the tears in the little one's voice; feel the panic radiating off of them like a beacon. With a soft, decisive sigh, Virva phased through the realms. The scent of fear on the wind drew her ever closer to the sobbing child until she was within sight. Quietly, so not to startle her, they crept like a warm summer's breeze.
"Do not despair, little one. I am here to guide your way."
The child's whimpers ebbed as they looked up to see the glowing faerie, suspended by gorgeous gossamer wings.
"What is your name, small one?"
"R-Rue." The little lambaby swiped at her eyes with a paw, drying some of the tears that had spilled from their gentle magenta depths.
"Rue," they tried out the name on the tip of their tongue. "A beautiful flower; an herb of many uses. Merry meet, young Rue. How did you get yourself so turned around?"
"I w-was playing with my f-friends n-near the edge of the woods," Rue tremulously explained. "We were p-playing hide-and-seek, a-and I hid too deep in. I-I think they st-stopped looking for me." "Wh-who are you?"
"I go by many names, but you may call me Virva."
The child was silent for the moment, save a few residual sniffles.
"The rue flower is strong and hearty; preferring the rockiest and driest of soils that most plants would struggle to survive in. It is a warrior plant; much like you, young Rue. You are far braver than you know." The words of encouragement worked their magic; soothing the child's mind. Virva could already feel the fear start to dissipate from her aura. "Come. Walk with me."
Rue shakily got to her feet, but hesitated as Virva floated a few steps ahead. "B-but it's dark and scary!"
Rue was not incorrect. The silhouettes of trees formed towering monsters with sharpened claws. Eyes glinted almost maliciously in the undergrowth. "Fear not, little one. I will light the way." Virva concentrated on their body, allowing their faint glow to intensify. "See? Things are not so frightening when a light is cast upon them." The towering monsters transformed into tranquil trees; the animals revealing themselves to be nothing more than a family of chipmunks.
"I... I guess."
"Stay within my light. I will guide you back home."
- - -
As they neared the edge of the forest, both lambicorns could hear others shouting. The two drew nearer and nearer to the sound, and it became abundantly clearer. "Rue! RUE!" They were yelling after her. They had never stopped looking, no matter what the little lambaby thought.
"See? They did not forget you."
"They're still looking!" Rue's face lit up with joy at the fact that she had not been forgotten. Following the sounds of the voices, the little lambaby ran up ahead of Virva and emerged into the dim light of dusk. Virva watched silently from the undergrowth as the searching lambicorns rejoiced upon their friend's return. The reunion was always a heartwarming one, no matter the length of time a wanderer had been missing.
As the hugging and cries of joy ebbed, Rue turned back to thank her mysterious guide. But Virva was already gone. All that remained was a faint glow amidst the trees.

Name: Lushaer
Gender: Lunettian [she/her]
Prompt:
"Oh little one, let me tell you the story about the best friend I've ever had, who I sadly do not remember the name of."

------------

Once upon a time in a land far away, there lived a little lamb and she ran all day. She didn't have any friends, but that didn't stop her from running in the fields. The lambie didn't have any family either, so she was alone, but she never really cared.

She learned gardening and grew all kinds of flowers in her field.

She loved to be around them, whether it was running or sitting.

One day she decided to plant some trees, and soon her field had become a forest. A really dark and leafy forest. The darkness and silence of it was calming in its own way, even kind of warm and sweet.

On another side of the forest, there was a lambie tired of being alone.

They had learned the difference between being alone and being lonely, and they had noticed they were both.

So they went into the forest. They were going to search, for something, for someone. For an opportunity.

And they found it.

They found each other.

In the middle of the forest one called home, in the middle of the forest the other one didn't think about.

She looked at the lambie, and quietly said "Welcome to the forest of dreams", looking at them trying to hide a soft smile.

"Thanks?" The other one responded, looking and sounding a little bit confused.

Lushaer looked at them and cackled a little.

"Sorry, I just like to call my forest that. This is what my dreams led me to do anyways. My name is Lushaer, by the way, but you can call me Lush.

"Oh cool, you can call me Dasha."

"Nice to meet you Dasha, what brings you here?" The black lambie said, calmly walking towards them.

"I wanted an adventure. To find something that would keep me company so I won't be alone anymore." They said, walking to her side.

"I could be company." She had said, and the other one had smiled.

And a promise was made.

To never leave each other aside.

And they kept it, they kept it close to their hearts, as close as they could, for as long as they could.

But it wasn't forever.

Because nothing lasts forever.

------------

They spent time together every day, and the forest became their shared home.

And so they fell in love.

And they confessed and they were happy together.

They told each other their secrets, and understood each other.

One in particular ended up in the best gift Lushaer ever received… and in their last goodbye.

------------

"Lush… I can make things… Out of earth power, really."

"Thats amazing!" She had said at that time, and she believed it was a blessing, that it would be good. And it was, really, it was nice.

But the consequences spiraled out of their control.

------------

Dasha was cornered, but they weren't concerned about themselves. They were concerned about their lover's safety.

They knew that their ability would end up in chaos if discovered, and had told her about it as a warning. But she hadn't taken it as one, and instead had decided to help them with any problems that would sprout from it.

And that caused this to happen.

Dasha, cornered, threatened.

Lushaer, alone and most likely in danger, they had assumed.

They were both looking everywhere for each other from where they could. They wanted to protect each other, save each other. Sacrifice themselves for the other one if necessary.

Lush was running away from everyone chasing her, and her eyes jumped from one place to another as quickly as they could, trying to spot Dasha.

Dasha was trying to fight everyone off, and was doing their best ducking and dodging to get a chance to escape, and the only thing in their mind was Lush.

In the distance, she spotted Dasha's vines. The vines they could grow when concentrated enough. Or when panicked enough.

And that only made her more scared for her.

She ran towards the vines, and saw those particular sunset wings that they had glimmering under the light.

She was quickly noticed by the attackers.

"Fly away!" Dasha screamed, concentrating their energy into giving her their wings.

Lushaer felt wings grow on her torso, and almost hesitated to do as asked, but the look on her lover's eyes broke her soul, and her hope of saving them before herself.

So she did.

And it hurt.

Everything hurt, her head, her legs, her torso, her heart.

She was hurt and she was crying.

She was full of regret and pain, she felt like she was going through all stages of grief at once.

She didn't think she would be able to see her own home without breaking down because of their shared memories.

But she had to go, it was her only place.

And she'd have to hold on to the last string of hope that the love of their life was still somehow alive.

------------

The lambie stopped for a second, shocked mixed with nostalgia and happiness appeared on their face.

"Dasher... Dasha. I called her Dasha.." They said, with a soft smile, glad that they now remembered the name of their lover after so long.

Name: Nephthys
Gender: Transfem Lunarian (She/they+some neopronouns)
Prompt:

Nephthys lives within the forest of Vairena, though no one knows exactly where. She’s become somewhat of a myth in the neighboring town. They say she’s a benevolent guardian, protecting the lives of all in the forest, and guiding those lost, in any way, as she was once lost herself. And at least half of that is true.

-------
(Rainer is just a stand-in as I didn’t have a lambie that fit the story)

Rainer looked down at himself in the lake, the starry sky, and silhouettes of trees reflected behind him. An anger swelled in his stomach. He swiped at his mirrored image, accidentally splashing himself with water. He groaned, clenching his jaw as he held back tears. How could he think there had been a chance?

“Hello there!” Rainer looked back to see a black, heavily furred lambie with soft lilac, swirly stripes, and beautiful fairy-esque wings trotting his way. “It’s a bit late, and chilly, to be out, isn’t it?” they had an unexplainable warmness to their aura, almost like the feeling of a mother’s hug after she’s been worrying about you, and now knows you’re safe. It felt like a spell, like a sudden wave of being loved, of soft yellow light, of going to sleep in warm bed sheets after an exciting day.

Rainer was perplexed, shaking his head to try and snap out of this feeling. “Are you alright?” The lambie stood across from him with a gentle look. “I-...Who are you?” Rainer was a bit dazed and tried to sound like he had not been crying. “Oh! Heheh, I suppose it’s rude to just walk up without introducing myself. I’m Nephthys.” Nephthys..? The forest lady? “Oh haha, very funny.” Rainer rolled his eyes. “Who are you really?” The other lambie seemed confused. “My name is Nephthys, really...I suppose you could consider me a fellow wanderer of this forest. Now, in what way are you lost?” “What do you mean lost? I’m not lost.” Whatever this act was, she was not going to drop it. “Those from outside who wander in are always lost, in one way or another. I help guide them back on their path.” She closed her eyes, it seemed like she was reciting this.

“Okay, listen, ‘Nephthys’,” Rainer stood up, irritated. “I’m not lost, and I don’t need anyone’s help. Now if you’ll excuse me.” He started walking away from the so-called Nephthys and the lake. “It’s alright to be lost, you know. Some people don’t understand, they won’t listen, but it’s alright, I will.” The warm feeling once again enveloped him, he felt his heart ache. How did she know? His eyes began to water, there was no use in holding back. He quietly started to sob. He felt a paw on his shoulder. “It’s alright, just tell me your troubles. Even if I can’t help, I will listen.” Nephthys had a caringness and a softness to her tone.

“My boyfriend...he’s been sent away...His family didn’t approve of me.” Nephthys nodded “I once had a girl with a similar problem to his. She was cast out due to the intolerance of others. But she soon realized, their approval wasn’t worth it, no matter how close they were. She learned to be herself for herself, and embrace who she was and what she wanted without the assent of others. Come now, running away won’t help. You have a special someone who needs you. Let’s talk further on the way out.” She nudged and began to tread into the surrounding clusters of trees. Rainer took a deep breath, collecting himself, and began to follow.
