Lion Name: Savane
Lion Gender: Female
Pride: N/A
Pride Status: Needing to be founded. Once it is, it will be named The Sanguine Coast.
Prompt:
Savane was part of the first litter her parents had, leading her to be the big sister to many cubs during her lifetime. She, unlike her littermates, decided to act as a guardian for her young siblings. She could be, perhaps, a bit too overprotective, but she always had the best intentions. While her littermates found her actions silly at best and annoying at worst, the nannies of the pride and her parents were quite thankful, even if she was a bit intense sometimes.
Only months after another litter of cubs was born, Savane's mother fell ill and quickly thereafter passed away. She knew her father wouldn't be able to care for her siblings while he was mourning. Though she was mourning as well, Savane decided she would become the primary caretaker of the cubs while they were still young. She cared deeply for them, perhaps as much as a mother would, and made sure they grew up happily. At times they would call her 'mom', to which she'd usually correct them. Though she didn't personally mind being called 'mom' by them, she didn't want to "take credit" for her mother's final litter either.
A year after she took in her siblings, they were finally old enough to begin training and no longer needed a 'mother' to care for them. She was happy to see that they were healthy and strong, but part of her realized that she could no longer have younger siblings to babysit. It left her feeling a little lost for some time, but she eventually devoted her passion for protecting to the pride as a whole. She made sure everyone was fed and made sure the territory was secure. She had gone from a protective big sister to her siblings, to a true guardian to the entire pride. Despite that, to her siblings who remained in the pride, she'd always be an almost mother-like figure that they looked up to.
