Cat Name: Laul
Link to Thread: Forsaken FelinesPrompt:Laul didnt think he held many things dear. He was a simple cat, simple goals and dreams and aspirations.
What more could he want than what he already had, how could simple material items convey the same meaning as another individual? His friends and family, or even his enemies and their moral teachings.
But then the fire came, and only then did Laul realise how many things did truly hold meaning for him. The letters from his auntie, telling tales of her adventures burnt to a cinder. The glass vases his nephew stole for him cracked and shattered. His first baby tooth he lost, a spool of wool his grandfather had carefully woven from each black sheep he had ever seen. Buried under rubble.
It had never been the materials themselves, but instead the memories they held. He only had a few moments, to grab himself and his family and run before the fumes got too strong, the flames far too bright.
He only had one thing left from that home, a silly little knick knack that had meant nothing before the fire. It was an dull grey rock his brother had picked up, giving it to him as a joke. It was never very dear to him before. But now, he held onto it like a treasure, hoping all the memories that had burnt would be safe, as he attached them all to the stone. (236/300)
