name: Roo (can you guess why?)
prompt:
Most people put themselves firmly into either team coffee or team tea, but Roo is equally enamored with both. That being said, she does have to admit she has more tea at home than she does coffee. The perfect cup of tea for Roo is very dependent on the time and place - after all, her go-to morning cup would not be suitable for an evening wind down.(To be clear, a dirty chai is her preferred morning brew, the best of both worlds). In the evenings when she has an opening shift at before the crack of dawn, a blend of elderberry, chamomile, and echinacea is her favorite way to settle into soft and hazy drowsiness, disconnecting bit by bit from the world and devices. In the late afternoon, if curling up with a good book or a movie and rain pours past her window, then a big warm cup of spiced black tea is the best - with chili, pepper, ginger and more. Sometimes it becomes overwhelming choosing between all of her loose leaf varieties, or she simply wants something quicker, so a basic prepacked earl grey tea bag becomes favored.
But she supposes, that if you really pulled her ear about it and she absolutely had to pick one tea out of them all, then her favorite cup of tea is a rooibos blend with saffron and peppercorns in her favorite tea mug (it depicts a scene of Moomin, her favorite cartoon), in the early morning where the sun is up but the world is quiet, the only sounds filtering through to her balcony on the fourth floor being birdsong.

name: heiwa, japanese for peace.
prompt:
xxxxxxxxideal cup of tea? ah. well, thats easy. heiwa loves all tea, however, her favourite would most likely have to be matcha. add a few ice cubes, and.. oh god, it's perfection. the best part of matcha tea is the taste. it's bitter, but has a hint of sweetness to it, just how heiwa likes it. not to mention, the tea is such a lovely shade of green, as she says. oh, just from thinking about it, it makes her mouth water. though aside from that, heiwa often enjoys sitting outside, specifically out in the garden and most likely alone too. heiwa enjoys the sight of blooming flowers while she relaxes in the back, drinking her favourite beverage. if not outside though, you could probably find her inside, lounging peacefully and listening to some soothing classical tunes, especially on a rainy day; another perfect way to spend the evening.

prompt: You could call her a tea purist, but it doesn't just matter what tea leaves to use, but it is also about the temperature, the precision, the love poured into each cup of tea. Between her flourishing chrysanthemum flower fields and imported dried ingredient collection, she has created her own fragrant blend.
Chrysanthemum tea can be bitter by itself, but combine it with goji berries, honeysuckle and a little bit of rock sugar should help sweeten it right up. The taste of it after a long day of work just refreshes her spirits as the warmth travels throughout her entire body. She makes sure to harvest the flowers in the autumn morning when many of them are blooming and sundries them for 5 days. Then steeps the ingredients for 10 minutes and scoops them out to enjoy her cup before it turns too bitter.
Of course, all the decorum and work can be forgotten when it's with friends and family. Any blend of tea will do, even cold instant tea. It's the warmth from good company that refreshes her spirit, not the precision in the tea process so every teacup they serve will be perfectly imperfect.
fun facts:
- Chidori often attends and host tea parties with merchants so they can trade tea
ingredients when they gossip about the latest news
- When she goes to the market in her free time, she enjoys people watching as
she eats snacks from food stalls
- She practices kintsugi after a friend accidentally broke one of her favourite teacups.
She fixed the teacup and they mended their friendship.

Frist I'd liked to thank everyone for entering <3 I enjoyed reading all the entries, all the tea blends and brews you described sounded delightful and I’m definitely going to look into some irl !! However, the cup of tea that really won me over was by
@rabbit… !!
Congrats, you win this fumi ^^ I adored how vividly written your piece was !! The part that really touched me was how in the end the tea didn’t really matter when in good company, that anything would do. Can’t wait to see what you’ll do next with Chidori c:
