What's their proudest achievement?: Midas is a very proud being and it’s known by all that know him on a personal level. There are many things that he could list as his proudest but none can compare to this one in specific.
Midas is a being that believes that he’s the king, of what we aren’t sure, but nonetheless he still believes that he’s the king of almost everything. As a king he feels that he needs a kingdom to rule over and for the longest time he had gone without one, and all kings needed a kingdom to be recognized as the ruler that they were. One day he decided that it was time to take the steps needed to become a true king of some kingdom.
It started out like any other day. Midas spent fifteen minutes staring at himself in the mirror and then another moment for some self praise. It wasn’t until midday that Midas left in search for some land to conquer. He went searching for a whole day before he wandered into a furniture store to take a rest in one of the beds as he was too lazy to head back to his home. He was napping peacefully napping before suddenly he was awoken by a small pair of eyes. It was a small pup that looked up towards the jestelin with curiosity.
“What are you doing? You’re not supposed to be sleeping on dat? My mommy says that’s just for looking at.” The pup murmurs, their tail wagging behind them. Midas perked his ears with a pleased jingle and rose on all fours. This was his moment.
“What your mommy doesn’t know, little one, is that this is my kingdom and I am King Midas! Ruler of...of this bed! And these pillows..are in fact my kingdom!” He laughed, proudly standing on his hind legs with a triumphant attitude to match the look upon the mask.
The young pup looked towards Midas with wide eyes. “Woah!! I can’t believe it! A real king!!” They exclaimed while bouncing up and down. It wasn’t much longer before their ears perked and they dashed off to meet their guardian once more. “Bye King!!” They exclaimed before fully vanishing.
The amount of pride that Midas felt within that moment was something that most couldn’t compare. He had done it. Finally, someone had recognized him for the thing he strived for. Even though it was just one person, that was enough to fill his ego and fuel his goal of being the king he knew he was meant to be, even if it started out as being something as minuscule as a bed display in a furniture store.
