species info wrote:Cyodin are a primarily aquatic species that live in dens that are dug into the sea floor! A very social species, there have even been a few instances of small communities or "colonies" popping up. They are omnivorous, but are partial to fish and crabs. The bodies and lures of Cyodin seem to grow a strange, brightly colored bioluminescent algae, which they use to attract food!
In most cases, a Cyodin will have a darker back and a lighter belly to blend in while swimming. If viewed from above, they will blend into the dark waters below. If viewed from below, they will blend in with the light above! Occasionally, there are exceptions to this rule though it isn't often, as it makes camouflaging much harder.

IMPORTANT wrote:Some important anatomy/design notes to help you with your Cyodin.
- You may not trait-mix. This means that you cannot use more than one trait of a type at a time. (e.g. alien lures + kitten lures, 2 sets of eyes + blackout eyes, etc.)
- Algae areas are: Inside of the ears, entire neck, claws, lures, and tails. Algae may cover the entire tail, or just the tail fins. You may choose to show algae however you like, as long as it is clear where the algae starts and stops.
- Algae growths are not permitted anywhere else on the body for a normal Cyodin.
- The biolum/glow of the algae can be any color, outside of the greyscale range. Algae that is grey is considered diseased, or dead. This means absolutely NO white, grey, or black algae!
- The area under the algae can be a bright color (as seen in the older Cyodin designs) or continue the pattern of fur (as seen on some newer designs!) as long as the algae location is obvious.
