Username: Alexander Thaddius
Show Name: Mistress of the hunt
Barn Name: Artemis
Gender: Mare
Halter Type + Color, and Hardware Color: widenoseband, pearl, silver hardware
Prompt:
Artemis is a very kind and thoughtful mare ensuring that horses aren't picking fights, that broodmares and foals get the first pick of the best grass, and that the stallions aren't too rowdy and bothering anyone else. Despite Artemis and her kindness Artemis isn't the most liked because she acts like a stallion. She will lead the herd to the best spots for grazing, she will patrol the herd making sure everyone is safe, she will set a pace that allows the older and sick horses to stay with the herd, and she will run off predators to protect the herd.
The older horses think she is out of line and that doing those things is the lead stallion's job, but the younger horses like Artemis and her ways.
'Sure it's different, but Artemis is kind, thoughtful, and a protector. She helps everyone in their time of need and cares about everyone, so what's it matter if she does a lead stallion's job? They don't do it anyways.' The mares think.
Artemis knows who does and doesn't like her, but she doesn't care she knows she is doing the right thing and if they don't like it then they don't like it; it's no hair off her coat.
The mares of the barn have started a small sub-herd of their own with Artemis as the lead mare because she knows what she is doing and she cares. They have decided that any horse that is rude to Artemis is immediately snubbed and if they ask any mare in the Artemis's herd the mares will ignore them until they apologize to Artemis herself and tell her what they did. So far Artemis has been given 5 apologies and with breeding season coming up soon the mares feel that there will be many apologies from stallions.
Artemis isn't fond of the stallions because they like to be a bit too rowdy for her liking and breeding season only amplifies it. She knows that it is their nature, but she also knows that part of it is just the stallions being rude. Horses in the barn still talk in hushed whispers about how a stallion drew blood from a blind colt and Artemis fought with him until the handlers pulled them apart.
Artemis is fiercely loyal to her herd, kind, and protective. She will do anything for her herd and she knows that no matter what they say they woukd do the same for her.
Artemis is well liked among the mares and foals as her good deed have reached their ears. However, the same cannot be said for the stallions as they think she will turn the herd against them, but they do that thenselves. The older horses aren't fond of her, but they're stuck in their old ways and some are slowly warming up to her. She is so well liked among the mares and stallions she has a sub-herd that the members have named 'Artemis' hunters' to show which herd they are loyal to.
