It was a night like any other. Vesper was out on the hunt. The streets around him were covered in darkness, but with his superior cat vision he was able to spot even the smallest of movements. His light blue eyes shone from the shadows like sapphires. Moonlight up. Spotlight up. Wait, spotlight? A small speck of bright light illuminated a brick wall to his left. He turned his head the other way, but could not see anything that could be casting said light. He crept closer towards the unknown glimmer, his soft paws making no sound on the pavement. Before he could reach it, the light moved. He followed, gaining speed as did the shine. He had to run to keep it’s pace. The light’s pattern was unnatural, jumping from one building to another, never falling to the ground. Eventually he ended up in an alley leading towards the outside of the city with nothing but open fields spreading out. He knew this time he would catch that sneaky glimmer. It had no choice but to turn back. Or so he thought. The light however moved from the side of a building into open space and hovered in the air right in front of him. He watched with his mouth slightly ajar in surprise. The light blinked and started flying higher and higher towards the moon and finally disappeared. Vesper never told anyone about this experience for fear of being ridiculed, but he’s certain that night he saw something out of this world.
What a beautiful, beautiful thing
to be able to dream
when you're not asleep.
