The fall festival was in full swing and Beryl wanted to see every single part of it. She gripped Jaidev's hand tightly as they wove through the crowd, ignoring his stuttering questions about where she was headed. Beryl flitted between the festival stalls like a honeybee in search of nectar, until she finally settled upon what she considered to be the main event.
"A corn maze?" Jaidev asked. Beryl grinned widely in response.
"These are like, the best part of any festival," Beryl said. "Plus I heard they grew this one fresh for this year, so it's a completely new layout. We could be in there for ages!"
"...ages...?"
"Come on! Let's do it!"
And with that, Beryl took off, striding happily across the bare ground without a care in the world. If she got lost? Well, that was just part of the fun!

Tawny had always liked hiking. It brought out the adventurer in her, and she'd spend hours admiring the plants and walking up the rocky trail in search of something new to get excited about.
She decided to bring a great friend of hers to hike with her. Together, they had gone on many adventures in the past, but this one would be their hardest yet. They were faced with an incredibly tall mountain, but she decided it was worth the challenge, and treked along.
On a particularly narrow trail, she approached a small gap between rocks. She thought nothing of it and hopped across, but whipped around when she heard the screech and whimper of her friend, who she found to be danging by one paw on the edge of the mountain.
Without panic, she rushed over to her friend and brought them back onto solid ground.
"Maybe we should get back to the main trail." She chuckled.

She's a common sight around town, with her brown leather satchel and bright, cheerful smile. It's quite obvious that she loves her job. The act of greeting people, of taking their letters and parcels and tucking them away. "They'll be nice and safe in here!" she'll say, taking the coin payment. "I'll get them to where they need to be." And she does; no one can doubt that. There's never a mix-up, never a late delivery. She doesn't give them a reason to doubt her, to ever question her professionalism.

But temptation is a tricky thing.

So she steals a bit of time for herself, tucking herself away in the shade of a nearby forest and away from prying eyes. Ironic, really, since she does this for her own. Out come the letters. She recognizes different hand writing by now. She knows who is writing to who. She learns secrets, snippets of information, stores them away in the back of her mind. It's not for power, or blackmail, or gain; it's curiosity, as simple as that.

And once her curiosity is satisfied for the day, the letters are returned to her satchel, and she continues on her delivery route.
