Euphorian Thoroughbred #819

Postby GECK0e » Mon Sep 21, 2020 10:58 am

Welcome to the Euphorian Retired Racehorse Project
Euphorian Thoroughbreds are a rare string of the Thoroughbred breed. They come from a single farm simply called “Euphoria” that has horses with mutated genes. These allow them to be able to possess any realistic coat or markings. Everything else about the sub-type is the same. Long, strong legs, a powerful hind, and great speed. Their eyes are soft and the breed is incredibly smart, if not a bit goofy. They love kids and have the rare ability to excel in any discipline. They can grow from 15hh-18hh, though usually somewhere in the middle.
The horses readopted through the Euphorian Retired Racehorse Project are looking for a new loving home and a new job. They’ve tried racing and have either retired or decided the sport wasn’t for them. Either way, they are ready for the next chapter in their life. Some of these horses will come with a little training already, and will have their new discipline already determined. Although others you’ll get to pick how they move forwards!

This excited you! Your family tradition of packing up your horses and going camping for a couple weeks was right around the corner!
I smiled with glee. It was almost time, yet there was so much to prepare. I walk over to my horse, Morris. He has been my horse since I was little, we grew up together. I pat his nose and say "It's almost time, Morris! Maybe this time we'll get to catch that squirrel." He whinnies in reply as if he knows what I'm saying. I chuckle, and let him out of his stall. I lead him over to the tack room. "Hmm, I gotta pick something nice for today." I walk over to the wall. There are several sets displayed, and even more in storage. My eyes fly along the wall, until something catches my eye. A tack set, covered in bronze and gold colors had my attention. It would compliment the golden leaves of fall nicely. I turn to look at Morris while holding the saddle and saddle blanket. "Well, look at that Morris. Look's live we've got some tack for the trail!" He whinnies again and flicks his tail. "Good point, we should get started on our chores." I grab the standard tack for now, and saddle up. Morris carried behind him some feed for the animals on the farm. There were chickens, sheep, and cows. We both went from pen to pen, feeding the animals one by one. Morris really enjoyed this, we get to have quality time together and help around. Once we were done, we had to clean out the horse stalls. Morris was a big help, pulling the dirty straw to the back for me to take out later. After doing some more cleaning, we headed out to the training ring. We aren't going to use it during the trip, so we have to store it all for when we get back. Like magic, suddenly it goes from dawn to dusk. It's been a long day. I turn to Morris and rub his nose. "Great job today bud. That's practically it for our fall cleaning." He nuzzles my hand and motions for me to me to walk him to his stall. Grab a blanket for him, it will get colder any day now. He walks into his stall and whines a goodbye. I smile and wave goodbye to him. Autumn was coming, and we were going to face it, head on.

    Show Name: TCHKE Stalwart Stranger
    Barn Name: Kenny
    Gender: Stallion
    Age: 15 Years Old
    Height: 17.1hh
    Halter: Black with fluorescent details
    Discipline: Mounted First Responder
Competition: This year was to be a little different to the year's prior, so would require more preparation than we would usually expect. It was to be Kenny and I's first year attending the annual camp hosted by Tchotchke Estate as First Responders, which simply means that I have been trained in advanced First Aid and that we carry first aid equipment such as a defibrillator in case of any incidents - though of course, we hoped that we wouldn't be necessary for anything besides a few scraped knees. We act as a form of security, but are mobile enough to be at accidents before ambulances can arrive. The whole family was going to head out to the lake with a group of our Riding Instructors and Students, who would be hosting some small scale events that family and locals were invited to attend during the day.
We would follow the usual procedure of my parent's, the owners of Tchotchke Estate, driving ahead early that morning to set up some of the campsite to prepare for arrival. The instructors would return to gather the students, help everyone to tack up and we would follow the trail to the campsite. Kenny and I follow from the back to make sure no one manages to get slowed down and lost, but also so that we can see if something was to go wrong further up the line. Kenny's significantly taller than a lot of the Ponies, so we fortunately have a great view of what's going on ahead.
Although a large portion of the camping trip was going to be work and attending to the first aid tent; following rides around the trails and watching the events with Kenny, it wasn't all work. Kenny and I got to enjoy some of the trails by ourselves, which meant that we could go bird watching and fishing at the lake - as well as some bareback riding around the near by fields. I had also had Hyde brought up to do some jumping on one of the event days and gave a talk on Kenny and I's job as First Responders for events and shows in the local area, such as why we may be needed, why I wear a helmet camera and how we can help the emergency services through crowded areas.
