Located at the base of Mount Kerling in Iceland, our facility specializes in the care and adoption of this rare Icelandic draft breed, only available through our organization. - general rules
- • Be respectful and kind to others at all times c: ♥
• NIDs are a closed species, only approved artists may create them.
• You can own as many NIDs as you can handle! Please keep them up to date in your storage.
• Can NIDs be taken offsite? Yes, NIDs may be taken offsite if you decide to leave CS but they must remain Northern Icelandic Drafts.
• Can I create an anthro version of my NID? Yes, it's completely okay as long as it's clear the equine form is a Northern Icelandic Draft and does not change species.
• Can NIDs and GWD’s breed? No, although NIDs were born from the German Winter Draft lineart (thankyou Sprig!) they are an entirely different species now. However, you may transfer your GWD and once they're an official NID they may breed and participate in events just like any other draftie! ♥
• Can I transfer my GWD to NIDs? Yes, information on this will be coming soon! c:
• Can NIDs be sold or traded? Yes! Not for real world currency at this stage, but they may be traded for other NIDs, C$, pets, etc. Please post in the Updates channel in discord AND on your NIDs adoption page and have the new owner comment confirming the transfer; “I have sold/traded (NID name) to (New Owner’s name)!” That way it makes it easy for our archivists and clear for anyone looking at your NIDs page in the future c: There is a cooldown period of 1 week after adoption before a NID may be sold or traded.
breeding rules
- • Mares can only breed once a month. Stallions may stud as much as you allow.
• Same sex breedings do not usually occur and require a special voucher - more information on that soon! c:
• Foal gender is decided by the new owner.
• Foals mature after 2 weeks and cannot be bred until then.
• Please keep in mind that our amazing artists use this [link coming] guide when breeding.
• Foundation ancestors will be detailed on each NID's page so inbreeding shouldn't occur - if it does the foal will be stillborn and the breeding slots will not be refunded.
• NIDs may not breed with other species, so our Icelandic drafties remain pure.
artist rules
- • Is there a monthly minimum? Yes, we'd love to see an adopt or two a month but we also understand life happens. There will be an activity requirement for customs and other artist perks, however, so we can reward you for the time and love you pour into creating our drafties. c:
• Line edits don't need approval, within reason of course.
• Please keep colour/pattern rarity in mind and try to create more uncommon coats & patterns than rares, and more commons than uncommons. We want rares to stay rare! c;
• When you have completed a breeding please comment on the parents’ pages so slot usage and offspring is easy for current/future owners to track c: “(Owner’s name) has bred (NID name) with (NID name) and produced a foal! (foal link)”
