"This hound is breedable on July 16th"

We've made it to 300 guys! Ya'll have been awesome.

This competition is going to be a little different. I want to see at least two
reasons you enjoy these guys and the community. you are allowed 2 extras.
and a max of 500 words,

i will be judging based on your thought out responses. extras will be
treated as additional material but won’t discount those who don’t do extras.

end date July 15th

Breeding Notes:
Females will have a max of 2 pups per litter and can only be bred to other munchkins
Males can be bred with any female etc, max 2 pups per litter.
the mutation has a 25% pass rate
40% pass rate with two munchkins.

- I've really loved being an artist for the species! I really like that everyone is so supportive of each other and they're designs. I think it's given me a chance to really improve on my canine designing skills as well as interactions with other people.

- I really like the species-specific genes as well! I personally love marsh and tan the most (Green doggies are good doggies) and I'm really excited to see what comes next! The deer spots on this guy are really cool as well.

-The shows are also really cool. I like that they give you something to do with your hound along with others in the community without being a huge hassle to deal with. Pretty much everything feels pretty straight forward and easy to understand which I personally really appreciate.

My first Reason

Everyone comes off really friendly, no
one is catty, they all greet newcomers
without a second thought, It's really
lovely. The inclusivity makes one feel
at home pretty much as soon as they
join in
.
.
My third Reason

I love thinking up how the hounds would
work with my Sengal Zebras, setting
up herd for them, and then assigning
dogs to protect them, or for breeding
programs, some might even be put for
personal guard dogs or therapy and
assistant dogs. So. Much. FUN!
My second Reason

The lines are so gorgeous, as are the
artists colourings. Each individual dog
is coloured so nicely, the contests are
fun to engage in. And the staff are
very thoughtful and also love to join in
on the fun, so it makes it feel less like
everyone should be scared of them

A little about Bucky
"Getting to know me"

Despite his short stature, Bucky is not put off by anything
that comes around. Determined to do his best even with
his odd mutation, this munchkin canine pushes himself to
do just what the other Sengal Hounds do. At times he has
been known to push himself too hard and has gotten sick.
Yet he doesn't let that stop him, as soon as he has finished
being nursed back to health, he returns to doing his assigned
duty. However due to being so very work driven, Bucky can
be a little standoffish, unintentionally he pays more attention
to what he is supposed to be doing than engaging with others.
Though that isn't always a bad thing, he has at times, payed
more attention and interest in his duty as a herd protector
than he has to being a stud. His temperment is something
they wish to pass on, due to his high drive for Sengal Zebra
protection. His handler sometimes gets frustrated with him
due to the drive and he has been put to a few of the lax
females, but he has never shown interest in breeding and
therefore has no pups as of yet.
An excerpt from Bucky's life
"Breeding Time"

"Bucky, Bucky come here!" The seal deer spotted male
flicked an ear towards the sound of his handler, uninterested
in listening. He knew he would get in trouble later, but
he was busy, there was no time to pay attention to the
female who was in his cage with him. instead his paws
kept churning the earth at the edge of the wire, "Bucky!
Stop that!" his handler spoke again in a scolding manner.
Again, Bucky ignored the command, instead shoved his
muzzle under the small hole of the fence. Not big enough
yet. And then pressure on his throat, that darned collar,
forcing him away from his hole, he had to get away, he
had to make sure that the big grass eaters were okay,
why did they keep insisting he go copulate with that
strange female, he had a duty to do. "Fine, you win...
Again." At that, Bucky's ears twitched, did this mean he
was going back to his grass eaters? He turned his attention
to his handler, sitting obediently and waited to be taken
back to his grass plains with the grass eating creatures.

the reason i love senegal hounds? there are so many reason i love them! the community as a whole has always been so kind to one another. the artist and other staff have always been willing to help. everyone always has so many creative ideas for designs for different hounds. I've been around since the start of hounds and i love the way the community has grown. it is such a kind community that has been built around these adopts. i believe i've made many friends just from being apart of this community. honestly even after going on haitus for months to better myself and finish schooling everyone welcomed me back with open arms. the fact that they have come so far amazes me and makes me proud to have been here thru it.
a favorite thing of mine is doing combination breedings between other hound owners and my hound. especially to help others grow their hound population. plus i'm going to mention that honeycreeper66 has been so sweet to me about this. well i was on hiatus they breed two of our hounds together that i had agreed too. sadly since they couldn't get a hold of me they took both pups from the breeding. i didn't know this of course so when i came back i contacted them about if they would still like to breed and they informed me of everything. then offered to give me breeding with one of their hounds and have me keep all the pups. i loved one of their hounds but another i loved just as much was from the offspring of our first breeding. they have allowed me to get slots with both and so i've put forward pup selectors for both. so we can each have pups as i was moved by the initial kindness of them toward me.
by far the kindness of all the whole community is the best part. though another thing i love is how there is a limit to winning one hound per day. allowing more people to come into the community. this rule has also limited people to how many hounds they own really and which they want to enter for. as you should enter for the ones you truly adore and feel connected to rather than every single one you can.
something happened recently within the community that i believe i should also note is a reason to love it. eleu, you, asked if anyone wanted to help switch over the archives for both hounds and zebras. me and smol both volunteers to help and finished both archives within in the same day. the team work between members and staff just fills my heart with joy. - this is easily the most invested i've ever been in an adoptable species. from the moment i first saw these guys i knew i wanted to be part of the community. i have an incredibly short attention span so the fact that i've been active in shs for so long really says something about the quality of the adopts and the community!

    - the adopts are all really high quality! while there are some designs i'm not a fan of out of personal preference, i think it would be impossible to find a truly ugly looking hound. every artist has their own styles making every hound unique even if they have the same markings.

    - the community is lovely. the discord is a really pleasant place and it's very interesting to see everyone's hounds' and their personalities, & eleu is great at answering any questions people might have!

Quick question: So if you breed a male to a regular female, they have a 25% chance of passing on the munchkinism to their children but you can't do the same with the female?
Ok, thank you
