extra;; Ven had run away from home amidst a snow storm. He'd spent his childhood in the mountains, so he thought he'd be able to find his way through them without much trouble. But as the blizzard raged on, he found himself utterly lost, cold, and alone. After wandering for what felt like forever trying to find shelter from the frozen onslaught, a soft voice echoed behind him.

"Are you lost?" it said, and Ven spun around as fast as his frigid paws could handle, and what he saw before him, barely visible through the fog, was a creature the likes of which he'd never seen.

As he stood gawking at the figure, it shuffled forward through the haze, the snow seemingly avoiding any contact with the soft fur that surrounded it, as if it was bending to the creature's will. "I can help you find shelter" it spoke again, and this snapped Ven out of his trance.

"...Thank you" he replied, and allowed himself to be guided through the blinding storm. What did he have to lose at this point?

This is Sky's pal, Terra. Back many many many years ago, Sky had found Terra, hurt and broken, probably hit by a car or something. Assuming that this was a totally normal raven, he brought Terra home, unleashing all sorts of crazy events. But don't worry, only about half of them ended up actually being dangerous. Stuff, and not Terra, would fly around the room as Terra cawed from his makeshift bed box, and the sky seemed to turn dark at Terra's will. Though, like any non ghost/spiritual realm believer, Sky dismissed it, calling it a fluke of nature, a heavy wind or something. Yeah... cause wind... could cause... a 5 pound book to fly straight off the shelf... with all the windows shut.

Either way, after realizing Terra was blind, he kept him. It wasn't really a parasitic relationship, but Terra did use Sky for quite a lot of things, such as food. Over time, with many explainable events in between, Sky and Terra eventually became friends. Sky's friends would come over for parties, and always leave with some sort of story or question like "did that table just move across the room?" or "did your bird's chest just blink?", which he dismissed as they were seeing things.
