Extra:
This buck still shivers at the memory, flash backs involving stress, pain and that evil laughter from the person responsible. The thought is enough to have his hair stood on end. He'll never forget the glimmer of light reflecting off the cursed contraptions metal surface, the booming snap it emits with every move. The movement of hands to grasp tight on his paws, stretching out his toes and forcing him to stay still against all instincts tell him to run far, far away. The contraption biting down on his nails and ripping his claws from his feet. Clearly this person had no idea what they were doing and cut his nails far too short causing them to bleed and become extremely tender for a few days after. It was the first time Elwood had experienced this and the breeder had tried to trim his nails without previous experience or consulting a vet. As he squirmed, the hands holding him laughed and told him to stop being so silly and to sit still while his toes continued to burn, each one being exposed to the same treatment. Afterwards, Elwood remembers being dunked in a box of this white powder that stuck to his nails and halted the bleeding, something he heard his handler call "Cornflour". It's safe to say that Elwood walked very little and when he did he did it was a hobble and reluctance. The chocolate buck has tried everything in his power to avoid having to experience this again, despite, the dedication of his new handler, even a glimpse of any small metallic object glinting in the light is enough to send him running for his safe place.
