they're based of of our favorite cake flavors, red velvet and cheesecake!
(fun fact: i don't actually like cake lol)

we worked on the concept together, but I lined and qpple designed!

Citranella sat quietly under a tree, curled up with her favorite book. The wind wavered through her book, curling the pages as if it were reading with her.
Her eyes started to flutter, grogginess taking over her senses.
Ping!
Her phone chimed.
She opened her eyes and picked it up, sighing softly. It was her birthday, her "sweet 16".
Well, it would have been sweet if she had parents that cared.
She read the message, her eyes gliding slowly across the screen.

"Hey. Come ASAP. it's really important."

-5:15 PM

She frowned.
"I haven't seen her for a year and the first thing she sends to me is about something 'important'?" She said, getting up.

You see, Citra and her family haven't had the greatest history.
Her parents were divorced, which split her and her older sister up.
Her mother started neglecting her, and eventually started going out more, leaving her to survive on her own.
Her father, however, had moved on swiftly.
She hadn't seen her sister in a year, since the divorce happened, and it seemed her sister didn't mind that.

What does she mean by "We"? What's so important? She thought.
Ping!
She looked down at her phone again, this time a address showed.

677 XXX road.

She clicked the link and it brought her to the Google maps app, which gave her directions.

15 Minutes

She turned on Navigation, and she started walking.

...

Her phone repeated the phrase "You have arrived at your destination" loudly.
She took a deep breath.
Her paw lifted hesitantly off the ground as she rapped on the door, ready to run if it was a prank.

A kind face greeted her at the door as it was opened.
"You must be Kira's sister. Come in, come in!" the man at the door said sweetly.
Citra entered the room, and was greeted by a soft cooing and the warm voice of her sister.

"Citranella, I apologise for bothering you now, but I have a surprise."

Kira rounded the corner of the hallway, and a small kit entered the room shyly.

Citra gasped, looking at Kira.
"You- Is he?-" Citra sputtered, facing her sister.

"Meet your new nephew, Lucas." Kira said, smiling softly.

Citra's eyes blurred with tears.
She ran to hug her sister, now sobbing.

"Happy Sweet 16, little sis."

Juliet's favorite birthday gift is a huge book made up of all of the plays by Shakespeare. She's absolutely obsessed with Shakespeare, and she has the same birthday as him - April 23rd. It's always been a mystery to her on why he disappeared around the same time as his birthday and was considered dead on the same day. Juliet wonders if he actually died on the same day. She also thinks it's a coincidence that her parents gave her the same name as the main character in his most famous play.

Her favorite play is Macbeth because she loves the insight into the psychological aspects of the human mind. Juliet loves diving deep into the details of his plays, and she loves acting herself. She's a bit of a writer, but she knows she could never reach his level.
