prompt:"One...two...three..." Caspian giggled as he ran off to find a good hiding spot as his closest friend counted up to the predetermined count of twenty. He hadn't gotten too far away before stopping to look furtively about himself for a good hiding spot, he nipped his lower lip pensively as he attempted to decide which way to go. Perhaps towards the beach that lay behind the team base? Or maybe he could hide somewhere within the base itself?
"Ten...eleven...twelve..." Caspian needed to make a decision expediently, so he darted in the direction of the beach, running as fast as could, using Quick Attack to help him get there faster. Jumping off the small one foot ledge that divided grass from a sandy beach, Caspian pelted towards small, well-nigh imperceptible cave. Moving his goggles down to cover his eyes and protect them from the salty ocean water, he then dove into the water which was the only real way to get to the entrance of the cavern. Once inside, he waited patiently for his companion to discover him in his hiding place.
His heavy breathing from the run seemed to echo about the cavern and increase it in volume nearly ten-fold, which resulted in his desperate attempts to calm himself down and quiet his breathing a little more so as to avoid being discovered too quickly by his friend. He had just barely managed to get his breathing under control when heard footsteps outside in the sand, his ears swiveling towards the sound - she was close.
"Goodness...where could Caspian be..." he heard her say, which made him want to laugh triumphantly, but he had to remain quiet, "gosh I hope he didn't get swept out to sea..."
The tone in her voice made him worry that perhaps she really thought that he had and she was genuinely concerned about where he was. He was about to slowly exit the cave to tell her that he was alright when suddenly he both saw and heard a resounding splash as she dove into the water. With lightning speed, she had found her way to him and shocked him when she popped up out of the water right next to him, grinning broadly.
"Found ya Caspian," she declared triumphantly as she wrapped him in a warm embrace.
"Darn, I really thought I had ya
Flo," he replied laughing, "how'd you know I was here?"
"Because silly, this is your favorite hideout even when we aren't playing hide-and-go-seek," she chuckled warmly, "I've known ya for years, I know all your go to hiding places, Now c'mon, it's your turn to count and my turn to hide!"
"Alright, alright," Caspian replied, smiling as he covered his eyes with his goggles and his paws, "one, two, three..."
He heard splash of the water in the cave as she dove back under the water. Just like she knew where he had gone, he too had a good idea of where she was headed for as her hiding spot.
