His compassion and protectiveness

One of the things Erlend is most passionate about is protecting others, especially those he cares about. Everyday (to the point that some friends joke it's obsessive) he checks on everyone he cares about to ensure they're okay. This has saved some other hounds from unfortunate situations and every hound Erlend knows is thankful for this.

Hounds are not the only ones he protects. Every life is precious to Erlend and he has been spotted helping ducklings find their mother again or picking up a turtle and putting it right side up after a bit of a tumble.

What is this hound's best virtue and how does it come into play in their daily life? Candice's best trait is her passion for life and in particular, her passion for learning as much about anything and everything that she can. Ever since she was young she has been curious and bright for her age, while others were out playing games she loved to devour books of all sorts. She could tell you capitals of the countries or tell you what history went down when visiting a place and even explain new scientific theories if she'd read enough about them. She was starving for knowledge and did her best to satisfy herself. In short, she is book smart.

At first, it was a good thing all around, she got the high test results and could help others out if they had questions, but amazement and wonder started to turn into jealousy and annoyance. Candice didn't have the same social elegance and grace some individuals have and she struggled with even the more basic social ques. After all, she'd been so inquisitive and questioning she spent all her time on that - not on how to behave.

In the beginning, she was confused, this was a gift she had been told so why did her peers dislike her? It made no sense, she was awkward but helpful. She gave others solutions to their problems and tried to be a good person and she got good grades! As she grew she started to notice the awkwardness more and she started to retreat into herself, but still she couldn't give up on her quest for answers - so she kept studying with her closest ones' support. However, at times the isolation felt too much and she would go out and watch how others interacted, wondering why she felt o different - social cues seemed so foreign that they presented a challenge that no other language ever had.

But as time past, she began to accept herself more, she found new friendships in new places and started to, once again, take more pride in her intelligence and endless curiosity. Candice started to also channel some of her curiosity towards others when she felt uncomfortable in a situation - after all, most others like to talk about themselves. But she also has practiced holding bag when it seemed insensitive to others, as she was helped by one of her new friends to understand her how innocent curiosity could come across.
