Nishi isn’t native, she’s from a place that holds Spirits, Gods and Goddesses in high regards. She’s never doubted that spirits exist, but her spirits, her gods, they’re different. Nishi’s favorite fish are koi – the yin and yang fish that hold everything in balance. She’s grown up knowing of La and Tui, the first spirits to come to the mortal world. The story she knows from heart, the two spirits in an eternal dance of push and pull. It’s an ancient, spiritual way of believing – a way with the elements being part of everything.

Now, this may just be known as a myth, an old legend forgotten with time, but Nishi knows that these spirits have to be real. When she was a kit she was born near a pond full of koi; before she could even open her eyes she was thrust into a deadly scene. She had fallen into the cold water.

Nishi doesn’t remember much of that moment, only bits and pieces. The freezing water closing around her, feeling weightless and the much too bright light. Her mother had told her that La and Tui had blessed her, the star mixed into her fur proved as much.

Prompt: She loves any fish but her favorite would have to be a koi fish, when she was little her mother would always call her “little fish” and she grew up around a lot of lakes and she was always around fish. When she was a little older her parents made a fish pond and let peach pick a fish to be her own, peach and her mother snuck into a park and a rabbit greeted the two and led them to a secret pond behind the park. Peach looked around at all the fish, there were big fish, small fish, fish in every color. her eyes landed on one. It was a koi fish That looked just like peach, same colors and it even had patches. Peach pointed at the fish, she was clearly very excited. a rabbit grabbed the fish and put it in a bucket. peach admired her new pet while her mother picked out a few other fish. Peach named her new fish “peach jr” and she took care of her fish for 10 years before she moved away from her parents. Now she always brings a special treat for peach jr when she visits her parents.
