This splendid mare grew up in a small stable near a beach, when she was just a foal she loved to sneak away from her fenced field to cross the small pebble path that led to a beach with white sand and crystal clear water. She used to stay for hours with her hooves in the sand, looking at the sea, the waves, sometimes, during the beautiful days she could see in the distance some curious dolphins who kept her company with their verses.
Jockeys and volunteers the first times searched for her for hours everywhere before finding the foal and bringing her back to her enclosure, over time, however, as soon as Coral disappeared they all knew where to look, the beach.
One day during one of her walks on the beach she found something curious, that she did not know, with a rather particular color, a color that reminded her of her coat. Throughout the stables she was the only horse to have such a lively coat and often felt different and out of place. Now looking at that curious object on the white beach she felt almost at home, she she always thought that the sea was her home but now she was sure.
She did not hesitate and immediately bowed to pick up the object from the ground, the shape was strange she didn't want to separate from it. She returned to the stables trotting, happy and satisfied, her trainer joined her and let out a loud laugh at the sight of the foal with a beautiful piece of coral in her mouth.
"Let's see, what did you find during your daily walk? Do you know what this is called? It's called coral" said the young girl while she led the horse to her stable "now that you point it out to me, it looks a lot like you, should we officially call you Coral?"
From that day the piece of coral remained in the mare's stable and Coral was called by everyone like this, she was happy because her name reminded her of the sea and reminded her that she was no different but she was special.
